Event 23: WSOP APAC Champ Scott Davies Eliminated

$2,650 No Limit Hold’em (Freeze-Out)
Level 6: 200/400/50
Players: 471

In October 2014, Scott Davies defeated Jack Salter to win the World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific Main Event for $850,000 and a gold bracelet.

Since then, he has been traveling the world playing poker, which included a visit to the 2016 SHRPO. Unfortunately for him, his hope of cashing this event just came crashing down.

We missed his demise, but he was kind enough to share some details after the fact. According to him, he was crippled after picking up QxQx. He raised to 1,000 from the cutoff, the player in the big blind three-bet to 3,000, and Davies shipped. His opponent, who as it turned out held KxKx, called off for 16,000 total and held.

In the very next hand, Scott Clements raised to 1,000 from middle position and then called when Davies jammed for 2,950 total from the hijack.

Clements: KxJx
Davies: Ax9x

Davies got it in good, but he failed to hold as the board ran out 4x4x8xJxJx.
