Event 5: Jake Richardson Eliminated by Chipleader Alan Dobrow

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 27: 25,000/50,000 with a 5,000 Ante
Players Remaining: 20 of 1,804
Average Stack: 902,000 (18 bb)

Alan Dobrow opened with a raise to 130,000 in the hijack, and Jake Richardson three-bet to 285,000 in the cutoff. Dobrow called the remainder to see the flop.

It came 5s3c2s, and Dobow moved all in for 1,020,000. Richardson had 800,000 left in front of him, and he spent a long while in the tank. “This is my whole tournament, huh?” he realized. At one point, he stood up and gave the board a long stare, clearly agonizing over the decision. He eventually called, then he let out a fist pump as he realized he was correct.

Dobrow: 7h7s (pair of sevens)
Richardson: QhQc (pair of queens)

The turn Ts and river Ks filled out the board, though, and Dobrow ran down a flush to earn the knockout. He’s now the chipleader with 19 players remaining as Richardson heads to the payout desk.
