Event 7 ($560 NLHE): Jon Cohen Takes the Lead w/ 9 Left

From this point forward, we will be tracking the number of hands at the final table, but we will only be reporting the hands with significant action.

Hand #2 – Bryan Campanello min-raises from the hijack to 400,000, Sam Barnhart moves all in from the cutoff for 725,000, and Campanello calls with 10d9s. Barnhart turns over JdJs, and he’s a favorite to double up here.

The board comes Qd8d6c10c2d — Campanello flops a double-gutshot straight draw and turns a pair, but the pocket jacks hold up for Barnhart to double up in chips.

Sam Barnhart  –  1,975,000  (9 bb)
Bryan Campanello  –  16,400,000  (82 bb)

Joe Cohen Takes the Chip Lead
Jon Cohen Takes the Chip Lead

Hand #7 – Darren Rabinowitz min-raises from middle position to 400,000, Jon Cohen reraises from the button to 850,000, and Bryan Campanello cold four-bets from the big blind to 2,260,000. Rabinowitz folds, and Cohen five-bets it to 3,500,000.

Campanello thinks for a while before he folds, and Cohen takes the pot.

Jon Cohen  –  17,200,000  (86 bb)
Bryan Campanello  –  14,200,000  (71 bb)

It took a moment for Neville Darrell to realize he had the winning hand.

Hand #8 – Darren Rabinowitz min-raises UTG+1 to 400,000, and Neville Darrell calls from middle position. Both players check to the turn on a board of Ac6s5d9s, Rabinowitz bets 400,000, and Darrell calls.

The river is the 2d, Rabinowitz bets 1,275,000, and Darrell calls. Rabinowitz shows AsKc for a pair of nines, and it appears to be good and Darrell studies his own hand without showing it.

But then Darrell seems to realize that he has the best hand, and turns over Ad6d to win the pot with two pair, aces and sixes. Several players express shock at the slow-roll, though it’s a bit restrained because it appeared to be unintentional.

Neville Darrell  –  14,800,000  (74 bb)
Darren Rabinowitz  –  5,300,000  (26 bb)

Level 36 comes to an end after that hand, and the blinds increase to 150,000-300,000 with a 50,000 ante. Play continues without a break.
