There was a huge field for today’s $150 Big Stack NLH event, with 501 entries more than doubling the guaranteed prizepool. Combine the large field with the 6:00 pm start, and this event didn’t even reach it’s final table until after 2:30 am — after the players in Event 1 stopped playing for the night.

About an hour and a half later, the final five players decided to make a deal for an ICM chop, ending the event and awarding the trophy to chipleader Ernesto Gomez Galvez.

Galvez, a local player from Cutler Bay, Florida, earned $7,697, plus a seat into Event 21, $2,500 No Limit Hold’em. This was the biggest cash of his live tournament career, and Galvez has the opportunity to parlay it into even more money if he cashes in Event 21.
