Jorie Damiani takes the late lead
Jorie Damiani returns for Day 2 with a third place stack

Event 9 started with a $1 million guaranteed prize pool but that number never stood a chance. We hit the guarantee early in the fifth starting flight, then they piled nearly $500,000 on top of it. The tournament drew 2,923 entrants to create a prize pool worth $1,461,500 and set aside more than $250,000 for the winner.

There are 567 players still alive with a chance to make the money but only 250 of them will take home a piece. Joshua Hood returns as the chip leader but there are plenty of great players trying to chase him down.

Other survivors include WPT World Champion Asher Conniff, reigning Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year Ory Hen, 2007 WSOP Main Event Champion Jerry Yang, and two of the Mizrachi brothers (Rob and The Grinder).

Bags are on the tables, dealers are standing by, and players are beginning to find their seats. Action will be underway shortly and we’ll start looking for our next big champion.
