Ido Ashkenazi stood for his first few hands, now he has a sitting stack

Despite the deep stacks (the average is right at 40 big blinds), we have seen a lot of action at the start.

Former SHRP champ Ido Ashkenazi came into the day with only 4,000. Good enough for a single big blind. But he’s still here and he’s run his stack up to 60,000 after a series of double ups.

“He has more than me now!” tablemate Wally Maddah half laughed.

There was no good news for Marie Harrell. She began the day with 60,000 and found a monster on the first hand of the day. Harrell was all in with aces against tens but another ten came on the flop to send her out.

Ryan Olisar picked up a double himself when he shoved with the board reading Qs9h9d8h7c. Uri Kadosh called and Olisar was good with 9s8s against the trip nine’s of Kadosh Ac9c.
