A massive chip lead disappeared, quad nines cracking kings brought him back and the next hand sent John Cofhlin III to the Event 9 Championship here at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open here in Hollywood, FL.

After holding a huge chip lead to start heads-up, Robert Chow managed to snatch the lead away  from Cofhlin III.  And things looked bleak as Cofhlin went all in with pocket nines and ran into Chow’s kings.  But Cofhlin ran off quad nines to take the lead away and then finished it off on the next hand.

The final hand saw Cofhlin III pair his jack on a flop and then the board finished out with the on the turn and the on the river closing out the tournament and the championship for Cofhlin III.

And with that, Cofhlin takes home the title and $9,526. Congratulations!
