“If he wins this one, you have to get him in the blog.”

Those were the words of someone at Table 24, in reference to Jonathan Gaviao, who was sweating his most recent in a series of all-ins. The Texas pro was down to just 3,000 chips during the last level, and he was at risk for his last 1,000 chip after posting the ante. Gaviao survived that shove, then several more thereafter, and he was all the way up to 126,000 prior to this hand.

Gaviao open-shoved that amount with Ks5s, and he was called by an opponent with 8x8x. The As7d4s flop gave Gaviao a flush draw, and the turn Qs guaranteed him yet another double up. The river was the meaningless 3d.

A chip and a chair, and all that.

Jonathan Gaviao – 290,000 (18 bb)
