The biggest buy-in event of the 2016 Lucky Hearts Poker Open delivered an excellent final table, with over $25,000,000 in career poker tournament winnings between the nine players. When it was all said and done, 29-year-old Ryan Dunn was the last man standing after a grueling 10-hour final table and three-hour heads-up duel.

An environmental business owner, Dunn plays poker recreationally. He final tabled the WPT bestbet Bounty Scramble in November, finishing in fifth place for just more than $90,000. However, following that close call and a few other smaller results, Dunn was determined to emerge from this difficult field and final table victorious.

“I wanted to get over the hump and stick to my guns. You don’t get this kind of opportunity that often – to play heads up for a lot of money, especially in this tough of a field,” Dunn told us afterward. “When I got to heads up (despite railbirds for both players relentlessly urging both players to make a deal), I just decided let’s do this. I knew it would just feel so much better really winning this, and fortunately I did.”
