Event 12 Champion Zack Milchman

After winning Event #12 ($400 Omaha 8/Stud 8) in a heads-up deal, Zack Milchman plans to step away from playing poker full time.

“I’m announcing my retirement from poker,” said Milchman after his victory. “I’m going to do some other things in life. Poker’s nice, and it’s given me the freedom to spend time with my family. But I want a change of scenery.”

Milchman has earned more than half a million dollars from live poker tournaments, including 29 cashes and two trophies here at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood. He also has 11 WSOP cashes and two WSOP final tables on his resume, both in Omaha hi/lo.

“I definitely prefer Omaha,” said Milchman, “but I also like stud hi/lo. I like split-pot games.”

While Milchman is stepping down from being a full-time professional poker player, he isn’t leaving the game behind completely.

“I’ll still play a couple tournaments every series,” said Milchman, “but full-time, I’m done.”

Congratulations to Zack Milchman for tonight’s victory, and best wishes for whatever he pursues next.
