The first Friday of the LHPO series had two more flights of the big opening event plus the popular H.O.R.S.E. tournament made its return to the schedule.
Event 3 was the first mix game and it drew 102 entries to tie for the second biggest H.O.R.S.E. field in our history. Nick Pupillo is mainly a No Limit Hold’em player but joined this tournament after bagging a top 20 stack in Event 1 a day earlier. Yuval Bronshtein was also in the field and looking to go back-to-back after winning the Event 2 title.
The two of them would make it all the way down to heads-up play and Pupillo denied a second title to Bronshtein with the outright win. In a strange coincidence, this was Pupillo’s third SHRP trophy after he went back-to-back in consecutive days during the 2014 Rock N Roll Poker Open.
