They both needed to make a move and both caught what they needed. Thong Ho open-shoved for 2,750,000 and Harrison Gimbel moved in over the top to isolate.

Gimbel: AcJh
Ho: As3h

Ho needed help. He didn’t find it on the Qs9h5c flop but the 3d was what he was looking to catch. He faded the 9c river to double.

Thon Ho: 7,500,000
Harrison Gimbel: 7,400,000

Next up it was Watson moving all-in for 2,200,000 and it was Salomon Ponte calling this time for a chance at the KO.

Ponte: 8c8d
Watson: Th8h

Watson needed an interesting flop and found it a double belly buster draw when it came 7c6d4h. He missed the Ac turn but popped the 9c river for his double.

Ponte: 6,500,000
Watson: 5,300,000

On just the second hand of hand-for-hand play, Aaron Massey opened the button for 7,500. The small blind called. The big blind three-bet to 21,000. It was back on Massey and he four-bet an unknown amount. The small blind folded. The big blind shoved for about 75,000 and Massey called. The big blind was at risk.

Massey: QsQc
Big blind: TcTd

The board ran out Jc7c6dQd9h improving Massey to a set and earning him the pot. The big blind hit the rail 28th sending the remaining 27 players into the money.

Here’s a look at what they’re playing for:

1st: $140,000
2nd: $82,500
3rd: $47,500
4th: $38,500
5th: $30,000
6th: $25,000
7th: $20,000
8th: $15,000
9th: $10,000
10-12th: $6,500
13-15th: $5,500
16-18th: $5,000
19-27th: $4,500

One of those fortunate to sneak into the money is last summer’s WSOP Main Event runner up Josh Beckley. Beckley began the day with the short stack and now holds about 80,000.

Others still in contention include Seminole Hard Rock poker team member Mike Laake, John Dolan, T.K. Miles, Sam Panzica, Mike Laake, Jack Duong and Ryan Dunn.

Aaron Massey – 278,000 (92 bb)

Players Remaining: 7
Average Stack: 6,025,000 (20 bb)

The blinds levels continued to force the action and we had another major pot shortly after Goodman was sent out.

It was Salomon Ponte getting frisky for a third time with an open to 900,000 and he was called by Ed Mallon. Ryan D’Angelo followed by moving all-in for 3,650,000 and Ponte flatted.

That was enough for Mallon and he moved all-in over the top for 400K more. Mallon called for the massive three-way all-in.

Mallon: KdKs
Ponte: AdQd
D’Angelo: KcTh

D’Angelo needed a lot of help to stay alive and Ponte needed to catch for the double KO. Ponte paired the Qc7h3h flop but that was it as the board finished 7s and 5s.

D’Angelo was sent out in 7th place while Mallon earned the big pot.

Ryan D’Angelo: Eliminated in 7th Place ($48,260)
Ed Mallon: 12,200,000

Level 35: 150,000/300,000/50,000 Ante
Players Remaining: 8
Average Stack: 5,260,000 (18 bb)

Salomon Ponte continued to build his lead and local Zack Goodman was the next in line. Goodman three-bet shoved just like Balzano before him but was in much worse shape when Ponte called.

Ponte: KsKd
Goodman: QdTs

It was a decent flop for Goodman when the Jh9d7h gave him an open-ended straight draw. But he found no love on the 2d turn or 6c river to go out in 8th place.

Zack Goodman: Eliminated in 8th Place ($31,630)
Salomon Ponte: 9,500,000
