Ellen Lambeth in Flight A

Picking up the action in a six-way pot after a flop of 7d6c3h, Eli Levy checked from the small blind and the player in the big blind checked. Ellen Lambeth, who already survived Flight A, bet 2,000. from early position. She was called by the players in the hijack and button, and both blinds as well.

The turn was the 9s and action checked to Lambeth again. This time she bet 7,000, with only the player in the hijack and Levy calling.

The Kh river completed the board and all three players checked.

Levy tabled 10s5d for missed draws, Lambeth tabled 8c3d for pair of threes, and the player in the hijack mucked.

“Well, I did not expect that hand to win,” said Lambeth afterward with a smile.

Event 1 Flight A: Two Players Bust on the Money Bubble; Tony Ruberto Leads After Flight A

$360 Ultimate Re-Entry No Limit Hold’em
Level 17: 5,000/10,000 with a 1,000 ante
Flight A Players Remaining: 51 of 523

Flight A Chip Leader Tony Ruberto

Two players busted on the money bubble, locking up Day 2 seats for the remaining 51 players.

At Table 17, Stuart Greenbaum opened to 22,000 from under the gun. The next player to act three-bet shoved for 78,000, and Gerald Fehr four-bet shoved for about 115,000 from the button. Greenbaum folded, and the hands were kept face down as action at the other tables finished.

Meanwhile at Table 9, Tony Ruberto raised from under the gun, the player in the cutoff three-bet shoved for about 150,000, and Ruberto called.

Once all other action was complete, the hands were revealed. Fehr held JdJs and was racing with his opponent’s AdKs, while Ruberto tabled KhKs and was dominating his opponent’s AsQh. Both Fehr and Ruberto’s hands held up, bringing Flight A to an end.

With that last pot, Ruberto took the chip lead with 555,000. We’ll have complete chip counts for the Flight A survivors in an hour or so.

$360 Ultimate Re-Entry No Limit Hold’em
Level 4: 100/200
Flight B Entries: 270

The field is creeping up to the 300-entry mark. A few more players we’ve spotted among the masses include Michael Johnson, Errol Massey, Larry Klur, Jorge Gomez, Joseph Duchman, Alik Sitnyakovsky, Eli Levy, and Raffaello Locatelli.

Players are heading on their break, and we’ll have a list of the chip leaders shortly after they return.

Event 1 Flight B: Astarita Back for More

$360 Ultimate Re-Entry No Limit Hold’em
Level 3: 75/150
Flight B Entries: 250

Anthony Astarita

The Flight B field continues to grow after the first hour with 250 entries in the night session.

Anthony Astarita misfired his first bullet this morning but he’s back to try again this evening. He’s one of our recent SHRP champions and his top score came in another WPTDeepStack event. Astarita was the last player standing this summer at the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Summer Poker Open WPTDeepStack Main Event and earned more than $130,000 for the effort.

Event 1 Flight A: Registration Closed

$360 Ultimate Re-Entry No Limit Hold’em
Level 13: 1,500/3,000 with a 500 ante
Flight A Players Remaining: 99 of 523

Registration officially closed on Flight A of the Ultimate Re-Entry event and it drew 523 entries to the game. That’s a clear improvement over last year’s monster 500 entries for a good start to the series and event.

Flight A will continue to play down until 53 players remain and they will go into hand-for-hand play on the money bubble. Once one more player is eliminated, the remaining 52 players will be in the money and advance on to Day 2 on Monday.

Event 1 Flight B: Daniels Helps Field Grow

$360 Ultimate Re-Entry No Limit Hold’em
Level 2: 50/100
Flight B Entries: 160

Abbey Daniels

Flight B is moving up its number almost as quickly as the early flight which is about to close. They have 160 entries in the game in less than 45 minutes and they should cross over the 412 players Flight B drew last year.

Three-time SHRP champ (and televised WPT final table member) Abbey Daniels is part of the bulging field and she’s joined by some players from the previous flight including Dimitry Agrachov and Charlemagne Benjamin.

Flight A is shrinking fast

Time is running out for players to hop in the early flight of the Ultimate Re-Entry event as Level 12 winds down. They’ll have the rest of this level plus the 15-minute break before the registration desk will close on Flight A.

The current count means they will continue playing until 51 players remain to put the first money bubble at 52. They are dropping quickly with the ability to immediately buy into Flight B to continue their day. Only 14 tables remain with ~120 players and a color up break looming.

Event 1 Flight B: Second Run Underway

$360 Ultimate Re-Entry No Limit Hold’em
Level 1: 25/50
Flight B Entries: 81

The second flight of the 2017 LHPO Ultimate Re-Entry event is underway in the ballroom and ready to add to the already big numbers for the tournament. Registration is still open for Flight A so there are plenty of chances to run up a stack. Some short-stack wizards prefer to hop in late in the early flight closer to the money.

Some short-stack wizards prefer to hop in late in the early flight closer to the money. We have 81 players in the game at the start of Flight B adding to the more than 500 in the early flight.

The Ultimate Re-Entry format allows players to advance multiple stacks to Day 2 and they will receive a $2,500 for the smallest bag(s) and play the biggest. Last year there were 55 multi-stack winners and we expect to see similar numbers this time around.

The $360 buy-in tournament has a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool which should be easily hit this weekend. Players sit down to 15,000 starting stacks with late registration and unlimited re-entries available until the start of Level 13 at 11:45 this evening. They will continue playing until 10% of the field remains, rounding down, and everyone moving on to Day 2 will be in the money.

Cards are in the air and we’ll be tracking both flights to completion.

  • Players begin with 15,000 in chips and 30-minute levels
