Michael Mizrachi - Charity Chipleader Trophy
Michael Mizrachi won this trophy (and $1,000 cash) for being chipleader at the first break. Mizrachi posed for the photo even though, as he said, “I haven’t won anything yet.”

Registration has closed with 103 entries, and there was an award for the chipleader at this first break. Unsurprisingly, the chipleader is Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi, who turned his 10K starting stack into 158,500 over the first two hours of play. (The next closest chip stack was 91,000.)

Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi  –  158,500 (159 bb)

As chipleader at the first break, Mizrachi receives a trophy and $1,000 cash.

With 45 players remaining from a field of 103, the average chip stack is around 22,900 (23 big blinds). They will be playing down to a winner tonight.

All In for St. Jude - Players Party

The All In for St. Jude Charity Event began with a fancy players party with food, drinks, and a traditional auction, and there is a silent auction for other items that continues until 9:30 pm.

The poker tournament was scheduled for 7:00 pm, but it will be off to a late start as everyone is moving over from the players party to the dedicated tournament area. There will also be single-table blackjack tournaments available. (Players must be 21 years old for blackjack, while poker is 18+.)

The buy-in is $300, and players begin with 10,000 in chips. Registration remains open until the start of Level 9, which will be about 9:45 pm or so.

As a charity event, it will be quick, with 15-minute levels, and they are playing down to a winner tonight. We won’t be covering this like most of our tournaments, because this event isn’t really about the poker hands.
