The man who played a large part in the abrupt exit of Chino Rheem is still doing quite well.  Atlanta’s Dan Dyke is holding over the 200,000 chip mark despite having to deal with Rheem plus Daren Stabinski and John Racener sitting on his side of the table.

Dyke has won three titles per Hendon Mob including two in a week at the WPS Bahamas Poker Showdown in 2007.  His top cash was here at the 2013 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open for $58,175.

Sitting over 200,000 chips at last check, Dyke is one the many players hoping to have his breakout performance here in the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open and is on his way to advancing to Day 2.

After this last break for a color up, the players are back in play for the final two levels.  180 players remain out of the 357 entries for Day 1A.  We’ll see how many survive to Day 2 taking their next step toward this WPT title here at Seminole Hard Rock-Hollywood.

Danny Suied didn’t get the nickname “Miami Boss” for nothing.

Suied facing a checked to his opponent who fired out 16,000 after the river card putting him to the test.  Making different facial contortions as he mentally went through the hand, Suied finally decided to make the call.  His opponent admitted the bluff and showed for the busted flush draw while Suied flipped over for second pair but the best hand.

Suied is chipping up and looking to become a major factor in Day 1A as play rolls on here in Level 8.

UTG+1 raised to 1,500 preflop and Angel Vu reraised all in for 8,675 on the cutoff. The small blind tanked but folded and UTG+1 called. The two players then tabled their hands.

Sometimes the table draw is your best friend.  Sometimes not so much.

The players on this table have a rough roadblock set up on their way to the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open title as the threesome of Eddy Sabat and former WPT champions Keven Stammen and Will Failla have taken over one side of the table.  Breaking this group up will not be easy as we play on through Day 1A.

There were four players that contributed 1,200 preflop and the first three cards were dealt . Matt Stout bet 2,500 preflop under the gun and  Lawrence Paden raised all in from middle position for 3,975. The two other players folded but Stout called. The two players then flipped over their cards.

Jason Koon and Vinny Pahuja have been seated side-by-side all day but they are not even close to the most intimidating forces at the table.  That distinction belongs to Bruce “SkullCrusher” Kramer and his crystal skull card protector.

Decked out in a black jacket and a skull-themed shirt, Kramer looks about as intimidating as you can get at the table.  And with that sparkling skull mounted in front of him there’s no doubt he means business tonight.
