Registration has closed on Event 9 and the official numbers show 26 entrants for the Omaha/8 Stud/8 fun. Unsure if anyone managed to dust off their entire stack in four hours to use a re-entry but two have dropped out leaving us at three full tables.

There are now 26 entries in Event 9 at the Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open. Registration will remain open until the start of Level 7. Notables in the field include Robert Campbell, Michael Moed, and Timothy Patros. We will have the official field size and prize pool numbers available for you later tonight.

The field is off on their second break of the day with registration set to close on 1D. The board currently shows 204 in the flight with the 15-minute to break and players may surrender their stack to buy back in.

The third flight of Event 7 has reached its final level for players to get in the game. The entrant count hit 200 midway through the level to become the biggest start of the tournament.

That almost guarantees Event 7 will easily surpass a $250,000 prize pool by the time registration completely closes the books this evening.

Robert Campbell’s opponent just set an example about the joys of hi/lo games. They were head up in Stud/8 and they were firing bets all the way to 7th street. Campbell was calling with the lock low while his opponent was merely holding a straight flush.

The two split up the antes and bring-in, a seemingly small payout for the big hand. He took it like he’s seen it many times before.

The 2015 Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open schedule presents another non-Hold’em tournament for all to enjoy. This time around it’s mixing up split pot games by alternating between Omaha/8 and Stud/8. Event 9 has a $300 buy-in for anyone who wants to chop up some opponents, metaphorically.

Players begin with 10,000 stacks and 40-minute levels. This is scheduled as a two-day tournament with play scheduled to stop at 12am or the final table, whichever comes first. Late registration and re-entry is available until the start of Level 7.

Players are getting their instructions and cards will soon be in the air.
