Main Event Day 1A: It’s Never Over Until It’s Over

$1,500 + $150 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Poker Open” Main Event

Blinds: 250/500/75 ante

Two players with similar sized stacks got it all in pre-flop. The player in Seat 5 had AsQs and was going up against Seat 6 and pocket 9’s. Seat 6 had Seat 5 just barely covered and had to be feeling like he was about to be eliminate when the flop came 6s5s2s giving Seat 5 the nut flush. The dealer put up the 6d on the turn giving Seat 6 a small sliver of hope. “Six,” he asked the dealer for one of the cards that would give him a full house (a 9 would have as well). And just like that, she put out a third 6, the 6h. Seat 5 didn’t even realize he had lost the hand until the dealer started pushing the pot to Seat 6. “Oh wow,” he said when he realized what had happened. “You have me covered right? Wow.”

At Michael Mizrachi’s table, he decided to try and push Edina Pantinchin out of a pot. It didn’t work. He opened the action for a raise from the button and she three bet from the big blind to 3.9K. Grinder made it 10K to go and Edina moved all in. A sly smile came over Mizrachi’s face and he pushed his cards to the dealer.
