Main Event Final Table Reached While $10K Finale Kicks Off

The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown is hitting the home stretch with only one week left before the conclusion of the WPT Tournament of Champions.

Sunday’s action was highlighted by two of the three major WPT events on the schedule. The $3,500 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship reached the final 10 players and the $10,000 WPT Finale got cards in the air.

There were 321 players that put up the stack of high society to play the WPT Finale, but by the day’s end, there were only 179 remaining. Late registration is still open for the freeze-out event until the start of Day 2 and SHRPO.com will have complete coverage of the day’s action.

The final table was reached in the $3,500 main event and they have a few days off before play resumes. Hyoung Chae is pacing the final 10 and has a sizable chip lead over the field. They resume play on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. to play down to a winner. The final table will be live streamed on WPT.com.

While most of the attention was on the WPT events, Timothy Banks took down the $350 No Limit Hold’em single-day event. Banks busted from the $3,500 main event and then late registered the $350 and took down $14,522 in a four-way chop.

Monday kicks off the final week of action and features two one-day events running alongside Day 2 of the finale.
