James Carroll

We caught the action with the board out to the turn reading KsQs8dAc and James Carroll checked from the big blind. Josh Mountain was on the button, moved all in for ~275,000 and Carroll dropped in a stack of 25K chips to call.

Carroll: 8s8h
Mountain: JdTs

Carroll flopped a set of eights, Mountain turned a Broadway straight and needed it to hold. Mountain’s bad news came on the Qd river, pairing the board to give Carroll a full house eights over queens to send Mountain out near the bubble.

James Carroll – 2,060,000 (258 bb)
Josh Mountain – Eliminated

Paul Domb

Action slowed to a crawl with the money bubble getting close and the stacks staying deep. The field is still two eliminations away from bubble play and another from the money.

Paul Domb is still grinding and the only player remaining with a chance for a second May Deep Stack Poker Series Main Event win. He is the defending champion after taking the title in 2019 for $58K in a final table deal.

Meanwhile, James Carroll is taking advantage of the bubble and moved his stack up to 1,451,000. We caught the end of him taking adding another 230K with AcAh on a Kd7h2s6h2d board against Josh Mountain.

James Carroll – 1,451,000 (181 bb)
Josh Mountain – 238,000 (30 bb)

Event 5: Shawn Mohamed Triples; Levy Molina Eliminated

Level 17:  3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 ante

Shawn Mohamed

Action at Table 7 went big after the break with some swings. The end of the string was Shawn Mohamed getting his stack in the middle after a raise, Levy Molina shipped in from the small blind, and Josh Mountain moved in over the top from the big to get the OG raiser out of the hand.

Mohamed: QsQd
Mountain: JhJs
Molina: 6s6c

After getting the main pot and side pot settled, Mohamed had the shortest stack and Mountain had Molina covered. The board ran out Tc8s3c2s3h and Mohamed’s queens held for the triple up while Mountain’s pair of jacks gave him a 100K+ rebate from Molina.

Before any of that happened, James Carroll found his way to the top of the counts when he crossed over a million as Mountain dropped back.

Shawn Mohamed – 521,000 (87 bb)
Josh Mountain – 572,000 (95 bb)
James Carroll – 1,100,000 (183 bb)
Levy Molina – Eliminated

Matthew Zarcadoolas

Early action saw a series of preflop raises between Matthew Zarcadoolas and TK Miles with similar stacks that went in the middle.

Miles was ahead with pocket fives against the AcJs for Zarcadoolas but the AdJc6h flop slammed the door pretty hard. Then it locked on the Ah turn giving Zarcadoolas a full house, aces over jacks, to send a tough opponent out.

Miles had a great run this series, going deep in the other two multi-day tournaments.

Matthew Zarcadoolas – 231,000 (58 bb)
