Event 1: Greg Gratton’s Turn at the Top

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 21: 10,000/15,000 with a 15,000 ante
Players Remaining: 145 of 3,902

Greg Gratton

A lot of stacks continue to build as the field shrinks smaller. NY grinder Greg Gratton is the lastest to build a big chip castle and his 1,855,000 looks good enough for the lead.

For now.

Blinds are up to 10,000/15,000 with a 15,000 ante and the average stack is 538,000 (36 bb). Event 1 players will take a 45-minute dinner break at the completion of this level.

Event 1: Hearts Good for Keith Romanovitz

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 20: 6,000/12,000 with a 12,000 ante
Players Remaining: 170 of 3,902

Keith Romanovitz

We saw the aftermath of a three-way pot that saw Keith Romanovitz taking several minutes to pile up his stack. As told by tablemate Mike Beasley, it was three-way to the turn with the board reading KsTh4hQd and Romanovitz got around 500K in the middle.

His Ah8h was on a heart draw against two made straights with AcJs and AsJd. Broadway was no good on the 6h river to send one player out and Paul Camby down. Meanwhile, after finally completing his stack, Romanovitz was up to 1,256,000 among the leaders.

“Congrats,” Camby said. “That’s the type of hand that helps you win the tournament.”

Event 1: Under 200 Remain; Jake Schwartz Moving Up

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 20: 6,000/12,000 with a 12,000 ante
Players Remaining: 185 of 3,902

Jake Schwartz

Event 1 dropped under 200 players remaining during the first post-break level and they continue to line up for a payout. With 185 remaining, everyone is guaranteed at least $1,390 but still some work to do to get near the $300K.

Jake Schwartz is the latest to make a move up the chip counts as the local pro climbed up to 1,100,000.

Blinds are now 6,000/12,000 with a 12,000 ante and the average stack is 422,000 (35 bb).

Event 1: Seth Medoff Leads After Break

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 19: 5,000/10,000 with a 10,000 ante

Seth Medoff

After the crazy action of the first few levels, Event 1 players were able to enjoy some time away from the table during the first break. They are back in their seats with 230 players remaining and Seth Medoff sitting in the lead.

The co-leader from Flight A began the day with 464,000 but now sits with 1,288,000 for the big stack in the room. Fernando Rodriguez is still running will with 1,204,000 of his own in second.

Blinds are up to 5,000/10,000 with a 10,000 ante and the average stack is 340,000 (34 bb).

Event 6: Sunday Afternoon Poker

The second new tournament on today’s schedule gets underway at 4 pm and it will be another great field. Event 6 has a $1,100 buy-in with deep stacks, a two-day structure, and a $75,000 guaranteed prize pool.

They’ll sit down to 20,000 starting stacks and run 30-minutes blinds for the first 12 levels. They will increase to 40-minutes with Level 13 and stay that way until the final table. Late registration with a single re-entry option is available until the start of Level 9 at 8:30 pm. The tournament will continue to the end of Level 15 and survivors will return on Monday for Day 2.

There are a lot of people ready for this tournament and it should be another fun turnout.

Event 1: Fernando Rodriguez Making More Noise

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 17: 3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 ante
Players Remaining: 360 of 3,902

Fernando Rodriguez

Fernando Rodriguez is going at it again. Since the reopening of poker tournaments, he has booked more than $350,000 in cashes including a win in the opening event in January during the Lucky Hearts Poker Open for $205,000. In addition to that, he also finished fourth in the 2020 Tampa Winter Poker Open Main Event for $73,000 and second in the opening event of the 2021 Tampa Poker Classic.

Now he’s cruising again with 920,000 early on Day 2 of the tournament he won a few months ago. Running hot.

Another player to watch in today’s field is Jill Bryant cashing in her first SHR Hollywood tournament. The WSOP Circuit ring winner went deep in the last live WSOP Main Event (2019) and finished 116th as the last woman standing. Bryant is doing well today with 308,000 as players drop around her.

Event 1: Salvatore Sollecito Calling His Shot

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 17: 3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 ante
Players Remaining: 360 of 3,902

Salvatore Sollecito

The payout desk is a busy place this afternoon with 130 eliminated from Event 1 in the money. They will continue at this pace until the shorter stacks are gone and the bigger stacks are grinding towards some big money.

Salvatore Sollecito caught our attention earlier to let us know his intentions.

“I’m winning this one,” the Coconut Creek Poker regular said. “And my mother is watching from Italy.”

Madre Sollecito will be happy to know her son is sitting nicely with ~250,000.

The blinds are up to 3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 ante and the average stack is 217,000 (36 bb).

Event 1: Jason Block Doubles As Field Shrinks

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 16: 3,000/5,000 with a 5,000 ante
Players Remaining: 430 of 3,902

Jason Block

With the Day 2 field already in the money, we did not have the usual slowdown at the start of the day waiting for the bubble. Players mixed it up early and we lost 60 players to the payout desk in less than half an hour.

Tampa Winter Poker Open winner Jason Block avoided that fate when he found a fortunate turn. He had his 101,000 all in from the big blind after Matthew Ploof opened his button.

Block: KsQs
Ploof: 7s7c

The AhTsTc gave Ploof two pair but the Ac turn counterfeited it to put Block in the lead with his king kicker. The Qh river improved Block to two pair aces and queens to double up.

Jason Block – 210,000 (42 bb)
Matthew Ploof – 245,000 (49 bb)
