It was a rough start to the day for Sam Panzica. The two-time WPT champ/four-time WSOP Circuit winner was one of the first players in the room and he was the first to exit. It looks like Ian O’Hara did most of the heavy lifting and he’s up to 143,400.

Panzica has one cash the series but it was a big one. He earned more than $100,000 for a second-place finish in the $1,100 tournament.

Following two starting flights and a Day 2, the WPT Poker Showdown Championship is down to 90 players and well into the money. There are a number of storylines developing including a list  chip leaders that’s topped by Keith Ferrara (1,905,000) and Jerry Wong (1,470,000). Others toward the top include Aaron Mermelstein, Eric Afriat, and Brett Murray.
