Danny Lair among the big crown in the Seminole Ballroom
The staggered break came to an end and the entire Flight E field picked up together at the start of Level 5. The prize pool is very close to hitting $1.7 million with a healthy number of players lining up to buy-in.
While most of the room will be taking up Event 15, we have something on the side for those who love Omaha and/or anyone who already bagged up in the big multi-flight tournament. Event 18 is a $600 Pot Limit Omaha 8 game that will produce a ton of action.
They’ll start at noon with 15,000 starting stacks and play 30-minute levels all day long. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 4:30 pm with a single re-entry option available to them should they go busto.
Since this is a one-day structure, we will award another SHRPO trophy before the end of the night and pick up full coverage at the final table.

With such a big crowd, now over 600 entries and growing, tournament staff will be sending the field on a staggered first break. Half of the room will take some time off with 15 minutes remaining in the level and the other half will take their normal break.
The end result is less people crowding the hallways and everyone will start Level 5 at the same time.

Caleb Piderit
We walked up to a table early in the action and saw a player packing up their stuff and leaving in the first level. The hand was complete so we didn’t see the action but we saw the results; Caleb Piderit had 20,000 a few minutes before but now sat with exactly 40,000.
Doubling early and trying to match his dad Eric with a 2021 SHRPO trophy.

There’s a small line at the registration desk but there are plenty of cashiers, short wait times, and no alternates.

We are hitting the halfway point of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open and the second Saturday will be a big one. This morning we have Flight E of Event 15, the penultimate flight in a tournament that already crushed its $1,000,000 guarantee and already produced a $1.3 million prize pool.
The first four flights combined to put 2,520 entries into the game with 316 players advancing to Day 2 on Sunday at 1 pm.
Today will play out like the last two days with players getting 20,000 starting stacks and 30-minute levels on Day 1 that go up to 40 on Day 2. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 2:30 pm with unlimited re-entries during that time. Flight E will cruise through the day until only 12.5% of the field remains and those survivors will advance to Day 2 in the money.
Cards go in the air at 10 am and the crowd will go big early.

2021 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Florida Event 17 $600 H.O.R.S.E. (Freeze-Out) Entries: 108 Prize Pool: $56,700 July 30, 2021
2021 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Event 17 Champion Andy Woodmancey
Event 17 of the 2021 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open was a $600 H.O.R.S.E. (Freeze-Out). A field of 108 players came to play, making this the third-largest H.O.R.S.E. tournament in terms of players, while the generated prize pool of $56,700 was the largest on record for an SHRP major.
A three-handed deal was reached between the final three players and as the chip leader, Andy Woodmancey was the official winner.
“I was hitting everything, like a card rack, so I didn’t really have to do much,” said Woodmancey afterward. “I made a couple of big calls in spots on the river, but for the most part I couldn’t dodge the deck.”
This marks Woodmancey’s second SHRP trophy, having previously won a PLO8 event at the 2019 Lucky Hearts Poker Open.
