Championship: Meet the Final Table

The $5,250 SHRPO Championship is once again headlining the Big 4 final tables on Tuesday, with a total prizepool worth more than $4.4 million, and $771,444 waiting for the 2018 SHRPO Champion.

The final nine players have combined live tournament earnings worth more than $25 million, though almost half of it comes from just one player — Joseph Cheong. Cheong is also one of two players at this table who were part of the WSOP November Nine; Cheong finished third in 2010, and Jeremy Ausmus finished fifth in 2012.

They’ll be back in action at 1:00 pm EDT, where the action will be live-streamed on a 30-minute delay and recorded for later broadcast as part of Poker Night in America.

Seat 1:  Joseph Cheong
Chip Count – 1,265,000

Joseph Cheong is likely the most famous player at the table, with more than $12.5 million in live tournament earnings, plus another $3.2 million online where he is known as “subiime.” Perhaps best known for finishing third in the 2010 WSOP Main Event, Cheong has 13 tournament victories on his resume, including a victory here four months ago when he won the $1,100 NLHE Turbo event at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown.

Seat 2:  Marcos Exterkotter
Chip Count –  4,370,000

Marcos Exterkotter is a businessman from Brazil, but he has done fairly well in the poker world with more than $192,000 in tournament earnings, which include four WSOP cashes, two WPT cashes, and a fourth-place finish at an LAPT final table. In 2016, he made it to Day 6 of the WSOP Main Event, finishing 75th to earn $80,721.

Seat 3:  Adam Adler
Chip Count – 3,745,000

Adam Adler is a 34-year-old local player from Miami, Florida, with more than $700,000 in live tournament earnings. Adler has two six-figure cashes at the World Series of Poker, with his biggest coming this past summer when he finished second in Event #2, the $10,000 NLHE Super Turbo Bounty.

Seat 4:  Ryan D’Angelo
Chip Count – 3,810,000

Ryan D’Angelo is a professional poker player with more than $3.1 million in live tournament earnings, and plenty more online where he’s known as “g0lfa.” D’Angelo’s poker resume is a long one, with seven WSOP final tables, three online WCOOP bracelets, two WPT Final Tables, a WSOP bracelet, and a fourth-place finish at the 2010 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) main event that earned him $700,000. D’Angelo is also passionate about health and nutrition, focused on a plant-based diet.

Seat 5:  Stoyan Obreshkov
Chip Count – 6,540,000

Born and raised in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, Stoyan Obreshkov has more than $600,000 in live tournament earnings, with his biggest cash coming in the 2017 WSOP Monster Stack, where he finished 11th to earn $75,915. Obreshkov also finished 21st in the 2017 WSOP Europe Main Event.

Seat 6:  Jeremy Ausmus
Chip Count – 4,090,000

Jeremy Ausmus is no stranger to poker fans after he finished fifth in the 2012 WSOP Main Event as part of the November Nine on ESPN. But the $2.15 million he earned there is less than half of his career earnings of $5.28 million — Ausmus has 10 six-figure-or-better scores on his resume, including a WSOP bracelet in 2013.

Seat 7: Ido Ashkenazi
Chip Count –   1,470,000

Born in Israel and currently living in Florida, Ido Ashkenazi is a former locksmith with more than $565,000 in career live tournament earnings. His best cash came right here at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at SHRPO in 2016, when he finished second in Event #10 ($570 NLHE) to earn $158,304. He won a similar event here at SHRPO in 2015, a $570 NLHE Double Black Chip Bounty.

Seat 8:  Jared Griener
Chip Count –  3,975,000

Jared Griener may look like he’s part of the “young gun” generation of poker players who started in college, but he’s a former sales manager who’s only been playing professionally for the past three years. In that time, he’s already accumulated more than $1.3 million in career earnings, and his biggest cash came in the 2017 WPT L.A. Poker Classic, where he finished third for $431,340. Griener also has two more top-eight finishes at WPT events, along with a WSOP final table.

Seat 9:  Brandon Eisen
Chip Count – 7,330,000

Born in Hawaii and currently living in Las Vegas as a professional poker player, Brandon Eisen had more than $740,000 in career live tournament, earnings, including three six-figure cashes. His best result was finishing third in the $1,111 WSOP Little One for One Drop in 2014, earning $283,895, and this is his fifth cash and second final table of this SHRPO series.

$2,650: Meet the Final Table

The final table of nine for the $2,650 No Limit Hold’em Big 4 event at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open boasts an impressive lineup of players that includes the defending champion of this event, Alex Foxen.

These players’ accolades include WSOP gold bracelets, WSOP Circuit rings, and SHRPO Main Event titles. You can check out the highlights from their poker resumes below.

They are set to return at 1 p.m. on Tuesday to play out the final table in front of the Poker Night in America cameras.

Seat 1: Matt O’Donnell
Chip count – 1,190,000

O’Donnell won a WSOP gold bracelet back in 2015 in a $2,500 no-limit hold’em event, and that victory was good for $551,941 in prize money. The 30-year-old resident of Tampa, FL holds career earnings worth $1,327,771.

Seat 2: Blair Hinkle
Chip count – 1,095,000

Hinkle is one of the most accomplished poker professionals at the final table with $4,125,978 in career earnings. His largest score came when he won the 2013 SHRPO Main Event and took home $1,745,245 in prize money. Hinkle won a WSOP gold bracelet back in 2008, and the 32-year-old resident of Kansas City, MO has the unique distinction of winning the WSOP Circuit Main Event in Council Bluffs, Iowa three times.

Seat 3: Rick Alvarado
Chip count – 735,000

Alvarado is from Las Vegas, and the 29-year-old has one SHRPO preliminary victory on his resume. He won the $1,100 no-limit hold’em six-max freezeout in 2015. Alvarado has one six-figure score to his name, and he booked that with a third-place finish ($104,784) in the $1,500 no-limit hold’em/pot-limit Omaha event at the WSOP in 2016.

Seat 4: Brandon Hall
Chip count – 555,000

Hall holds $1,407,397 in career earnings, and his largest score came when he won the 2009 UltimateBet Aruba Poker Classic, which was good for a payday of $753,330. The 29-year-old Las Vegas resident has logged over 30 cashes in his poker tournament career.

Seat 5: Matthew Kuba
Chip count – 380,000

Kuba is from nearby Plantation, FL, and the 31-year-old holds career earnings worth $139,141. His best score to date came when he cashed in 304th place in the 2014 WSOP Main Event for a haul worth $33,734.

Seat 6: Jake Schwartz
Chip count – 765,000

This poker professional from New York City holds $1,610,929 in career tournament earnings, and he has made multiple final tables at both the World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour. The largest score for the 27-year-old came when he took fourth place ($412,817) at the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic back in 2015.

Seat 7: Alex Foxen
Chip count – 2,915,000

Returning to this final table for the second year in a row, Foxen took home this tournament title and $204,600 in prize money one year ago when he topped a field of 395 players. The biggest score to be found in the 27-year-old Cold Spring Harbor, NY resident’s career earnings worth $4,322,834 came when he took second place ($1,134,202) at the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic this past December.

Seat 8: Michael Esposito
Chip count – 960,000

Esposito is from Seaford, NY, and his biggest claim to fame in the poker world came when he took seventh place ($1,258,040) in the WSOP Main Event in 2012. The 50-year-old holds total career earnings worth $1,751,723.

Seat 9: Tom Nguyen
Chip count – 1,970,000

Nguyen has been one of the perennial chip leaders in this event, and the Tampa, FL resident will add a nice chunk of change to his career earnings worth $411,870 at the final table. The 50-year-old scored the biggest cash of his career earlier at this tournament series when he took home $60,514 for finishing in sixth place in Event 1 ($570 No-Limit Hold’em DeepStack).

$1,100: Meet the Final Table

The 2018 SHRPO $1,100 Big 4 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry), which began with 640 runners, is down the final table of eight. Among them are a World Series of Poker bracelet winner, WPTDeepStacks Champion, an Irish superstar making back-to-back final tables in this event, and someone who has made a SHRPO Big 4 final table three years running!

They are set to return at 1p.m. local time to play out the final table in front of the Poker Night in America cameras. Action will resume in Level 27 (30,000/60,000/60,000) with 26:08 left on the clock.\

Seat 1: Joey Couden
Chip Count: 3,045,000

Joey Couden of Columbus, Ohio begins the final table as the chip leader. The 31-year-old poker pro and father of three (Kenzie, Austin and Sophie) is currently having the best year of his career with $614,216 in tournament earnings.

That includes a career-high $251,523 for finishing fourth in April’s $3,500 WPT Showdown Championship here at SHRPO, and $244,370 for taking down the 2018 World Series of Poker Event #53: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi/Lo 8 or Better, which also came with his first bracelet.

Seat 2: James Salmon
Chip Count: 1,260,000

James Salmon, a 32-year-old married poker pro, may have home field advantage at the final table. He hails from Miami and is a familiar face at the Hard Rock. He has just shy of $700K in tournament earnings including a career-high $91,097 for finishing runner-up in the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Event #1: $350 Deepstack. He also won two titles at the venue in 2014 and 2015 for $35,411 and $31,074 respectively.

In 2017, Salmon made a deep run in the World Series of Poker Main Event finishing in 142nd place for $53,247.

Seat 3: Marc MacDonnell
Chip Count: 1,145,000

Marc MacDonnell, 31, is no stranger to this event’s final table. Last year, he finished third out of a field of 633 entries for $53,349. MacDonnell, who currently ranks sixth on Ireland’s all-time money list with more than $1.8 million in earnings, has also made noise at the World Series of Poker in recent years.

At the 2015 WSOP, he finished runner-up to John Reading in Event #6: $1,000 NLH Hyper Turbo for $155,876, and at the 2017 WSOP placed fourth in the Millionaire Maker for $420,805. Earlier this year, he finished fourth in the World Poker Tour L.A. Poker Classic for $319,310.

Seat 4: Paul Balzano
Chip Count: 1,970,000

Based out of Sunrise, Florida, 53-year-old Paul Balzano (married with one daughter) has more than $1.4 million in lifetime earnings including a career-best $180,583 for winning the 2014 Wynn Poker Classic.

This marks his third SHRPO Big 4 final table in a row. In 2016, he finished seventh in the $5,250 Championship event for $125,000 and last year took fourth in the $2,650 NLH for $61,500.

If he can close out this final table he’ll not only capture the coveted SHRPO trophy but also notch the biggest score of his career.

Seat 5: Adam Zeltser
Chip Count: 640,000

Adam Zeltser, 33, enters the final table as the extreme short stack. He lists making this final table as his best poker accomplishment, which it must be given he has no documented cashes on HendonMob. Based out of Brooklyn, New York, Zeltser will look to spin it up early.

Seat 6: Michael Graffeo
Chip Count: 1,585,000

Born in Brooklyn, New York but now residing in Boca Raton, Florida, 43-year-old Michael Graffeo has $627,764 in tournament earnings. His best score came at this very venue back in January 2017 when he topped a massive field of 1,509 entries to win the 2017 Lucky Hearts Poker Open $1,100 WPTDeepStacks for $290,687.

Other highlights on his poker résumé include $88,481 for finishing third in a 2007 WSOP $2,000 NLH event and $58,200 for finishing runner-up in the 2009 Festa al Lago.

Seat 7: Maria Ho
Chip Count: 1,365,000

Maria Ho, 35, was slated to emcee and announce the Big 4 action, and while she might try to juggle some duties, she’s going to have to come on with her player cap on. That’s because the professional poker player, who this summer was inducted into the Women in Poker Hall of Fame, is in contention for a SHRPO title.

A true ambassador of the game, Ho is an accomplished player with more than $2.8 million in earnings and has made a name for herself as a go-to commentator. She also appeared on a season of CBS’ The Amazing Race alongside Tiffany Michelle.

Seat 8: Dennis Rodriguez
Chip Count: 1,975,000

Dennis Rodriguez, 39, was born in Queens, New York but now resides in Sunrise, Florida. He has $158,859 in lifetime earnings a career-best $46,996 for finishing fourth in April’s Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Event #8: $1,100 WPTDeepStacks Immokalee.

He also took fifth in the 2011 DeepStack $350 NLH Event for $21,000 and fourth in the 2014 WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open Coconut Creek $350 DeepStack for $12,750.

High Roller: Meet the Final Table

The Big 4 High Roller drew a huge crowd to the $25,500 buy-in event and they pushed the $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool over $3,000,000 by the time registration closed. Only eight of the starting 123 players remain and they’ll play it out for the title in front of the Poker Night in America cameras.

The eight players have combined for more than $53,000,000 in career earnings along with countless tournament trophies. Shaun Deeb leads the final table but there are seven talented players trying to catch.

Seat 1: Tom Marchese
Chip Count – 1,180,000

Marchese is a pro player and a regular in any High Roller event around the world. His $17.5 million in career earnings is huge and good enough for second all-time at this final table behind Jake Schindler. Marchese has 13 cashes over $100,000 and six that were $1,000,000 or more.

Seat 2: Barry Hutter
Chip Count – 1,320,000

The hometown Hollywood, FL hero will move over $4.7 million in career earnings no matter where he finishes at the final table and he can add another award to his list of credits. He already owns a WSOP Circuit ring from 2010, a WSOP bracelet from 2015, and he has one career WPT final table.

Seat 3: Jake Schindler
Chip Count – 2,035,000

The Northeast grinder is another familiar face in High Rollers around the world and his $20,000,000 in career earnings puts him at the top of the list among these final table players. Schindler has too many Aria High Roller wins to count and he began his trophy hunt with a tournament win here during the 2013 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open.

Seat 4: Ory Hen
Chip Count – 710,000

Hen is a constant, familiar, friendly face in all of our tournaments and the SHRP favorite will return to the final table as the shortest stack. He has proven his ability to finish off a tournament with a half dozen SHRP titles to go along with his WSOP Circuit ring. He is also a former SHRP Player of the Year after a huge run in 2015.

Seat 5: Paul Hofer
Chip Count – 1,365,000

The German pro is one of only three players at this final table with a WSOP bracelet. Hofer picked up nearly $650,000 when he won the $1,111 WSOP Little One for One Drop tournament in 2015. He also earned another nice score for an Aussie Million title back in 2016.

Seat 6: Mark Fisher
Chip Count – 1,625,000

Fisher is the big unknown quantity at this High Roller final table. The futures trader from Bar Harbor has only a handful of tournament results to his credit but he cashed a big one when he went deep in the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event. Fisher only non-pro at the final table but he has not been intimidated by the High Roller regulars.

Seat 7: Shaun Deeb
Chip Count – 3,205,000

Our chip leader Shaun Deeb has been on quite a roll all summer long. The high-stakes cash game pro has been hitting it big on the tournament side with 16 cashes during this summer’s World Series of Poker including two more bracelets bringing his total to four career WSOP wins. All those results add up to make him the current frontrunner for the WSOP Player of the Year.

Seat 8: Omar Zazay
Chip Count – 870,000

Zazay may not be from South Florida but we can still count him among our favorites after winning a monster title. He has $1.8 million in career earnings with a cool $1,000,000 of it coming almost exactly three years ago. Zazay outlasted 907 players to win the 2015 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship which ran as a freeze-out that year.
