Event 1 Flight C: Czinkota Trying to Break Through

$360 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 25/50
Flight C Entries: 130

Zoltan Czinkota

Flight C kicked off right on schedule and the field continues to grow in the morning hours. Some players were here at the very start while some enjoy the amenities around the property before getting involved.

Local favorite Zoltan Czinkota was here bright and early because his stack went in play at the start of the morning. That’s what happens when you win your way into the tournament via satellite. Czinkota played in the $115 Multi-Event satellite yesterday afternoon and booked his seat in today’s field along with an entry into the $570 buy-in/$1,000,000 Guarantee Event 9.

If you would also like to win your way into both big tournaments, we have another Multi-Event satellite running at 3pm with five packages guaranteed.

Czinkota is still trying to sit for a winner’s photo in one of our major events. He’s a constant presence in our tournaments with his share of second places results in our four big festivals but still shy of the top prize. Czinkota’s most recent runner-up finish came last August in the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open $360 Six-Max event.

Event 1 Flight C: First Weekend

$360 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 25/50

The first weekend of the 2017 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown is here and with it brings the next two starting flights of the big Event 1 opener. The $360 buy-in $500,000 Guarantee tournament drew a big crowd for the first two flights yesterday and we should tease that guaranteed prize pool later today.

Flights A and B combined for a total of 831 entries to put the prize pool near the $250,000 mark with four flights to go. Of those entries, 160 players stuck around throughout the day and will return on Sunday for Day 2. Today’s two fields should surpass the previous numbers and lock up the guarantee.

Players sit down to 20,000 starting stacks and Day 1 levels last 30 minutes. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 3:30pm and they will continue to play until the end of Level 14. Those with chips will put them in a bag for a return on Sunday for Day 2.

Action will kick off at the top of the hour and we will see how many players can join the 160 already moving on.

Level 14: 1,200/2,400 with a 400 ante

$360 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 13: 1,000/2,000 with a 300 ante
Flight B Players Remaining: 117 of 407

Paul Balzano

South Florida regular Paul Balzano recently doubled holding pocket queens against JcTc on a jack-high flop. Balzano got his last 21,200 but held to score a timely win. On the very next hand, he opened only see to another player jam for 9,000. Balzano called and they were face up.

Balzano: As5s
Opponent: KsQs

Runout: 8s8c6h7d4h

Balzano improved to a straight and earned a second consecutive win. With that, Balzano went from being at risk to holding 85,000 chips.

Event 1 Flight B: Grinder Grinding

$360 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 12: 600/1,200 with a 200 ante
Flight B Players Remaining: 135 of 407

Michael Mizrachi

Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi is climbing the counts midway through Level 12. He recently was in middle position and got 13,000 in the pot preflop versus a late-position opponent. The dealer burned and turned JsTs9d and Mizrachi quickly lead for 25,200 which appeared to have the opponent covered. The opponent mucked and Mizrachi raked the pot.

On the very next hand, Mizrachi raised and got a pair of callers. The flop fell AsAhJh and an early position player checked. Mizrachi bet 3,000 and a player in late position shoved for about 29,000. The early position player folded.

“Do you want action?” Mizrachi asked.

Whether the player wanted action or not, Mizrachi gave it. He called and flipped over Qh9h for a flush draw. The opponent’s 3s3h was good at the time, but an 8s turn and Qc river improved Mizrachi to a pair and earned him the pot.

The pair of hands has Mizrachi at about 132,000 chips with just over two levels remaining in the night.

Event 1 Flight B: Dantonio Brown Back at It

$360 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 11: 600/1,200 with a 200 ante

Dantonio Brown

Coming off a runner-up finish in the Lucky Hearts Poker Open Main Event, Dantonio Brown is picking up where he left off here at the Seminole Hard Rock. Brown has had an easy go of it through the first 10 levels and enjoys a monster stack in Level 11. With 177,500 chips he appears to sit atop the counts with about two hours left in the day.
