Event 1 Day 1D: Fourth Flight Flying

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 25/50
Flight 1D Entries: 80

Cards are in the air for the fourth flight of Event 1 and looking to push the entrant count further over 1,000. Friday night poker in the ballroom for some big money on Sunday.

There are 1,054 entrants in Event 1 combined in the first three flights and we should near 1,400 when registration closes this evening.

Entrants start with 20,000 starting stacks and play 30-minute levels throughout the day. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 around 10:30pm with unlimited re-entries during that time. They will play 14 full levels and survives will bag up their chips at the end of the day.

They are underway in the front of the ballroom and slinging chips.

Players are back in their seats after the final break of the flight. Less than 100 players remain and we should lose a few more tables over the hour before they shut down Flight C.

Andrew Reid is the late chip lead with just a few chips under 250,000 heading into the last two levels. Others still around include Kim Stone, Nancy Thomas, David Jackson, Luke Brereton, Jon Borenstein, Daren Stabinski, and Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Ambassador Wally Madday.

Flight C is quickly moving down towards its final break of the day and moving along at a faster clip than the previous flights. Perhaps they’re ready to hit the casino floor for some entertainment.

They’ll take one more break, return for two more levels, and the remaining players will bag their chips for a return on Sunday.

Event 2 is on its second break of the day and the registration desk will shut down for the Omaha/8 tournament when they return. There are 84 entrants currently in the mix and they might pick up a few more during the 15-minute timeout.

Better late than never, Michael Moed took his seat in the tournament during Level 8 and ready to defend his title. He was the last player standing last year in the bigger buy-in, smaller field version. Similar to Robert Campbell mentioned earlier, Moed has a lot of success in this format. He’s earned nine tournament trophies with seven of them coming in Omaha/8 events, six of them during a Seminole Hard Rock Poker series.

Jessica Dawley (Jeffersonville, IN)
Jessica Dawley is our recent addition to the Seminole Hard Rock Poker team

The field continues to shrink at a healthy pace and we found one of our new Seminole Hard Rock Poker team members grinding away. Jessica Dawley is back in the ballroom and trying to build a big stack for Day 2.

Dawley hit everyone’s radar in 2010 with a deep run in the Aussie Millions Main Event. She finished in 14th in the $10K tournament and hasn’t looked back since. Dawley continued to improve her results and capped off her 2015 with the two biggest scores of her career; fifth place in the Borgata Poker Open $2 Million opening event and sixth place in our televised Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open” Championship.

Less than half of the 360 starting entrants remain and we expect to cut than in half again before play ends after Level 14.

Abbey Daniels (Coral Springs, FL)
Abbey Daniels (Coral Springs, FL)

Flight C is closing in on 350 entrants with less than an hour to register or re-enter. That number puts us over 1,000 entrants for Event 1 and more than $300,000 towards the $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. There are still three more flights to run, the last three likely to be bigger than the first.

Continuing the theme of successful women poker players in our South Florida area, Abbey Daniels was one of the late entrants and took a seat near previously mentioned WSOP Ladies Champ Jacquelyn Scott. Daniels has a little history going for her this series. She made the televised final table during the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship and finished fourth for $287,000.
