Five players saw a flop of JcJh7d and Dani Dayan checked from the small blind. Jerry Yang checked from the big blind, the player under-the-gun checked and a player in middle position bet 2,000. The hijack folded, Dayan called, Yang folded and under-the-gun folded as well.

Dayan was heads-up with her opponent and the action was checked down as the board is completed with the 9d and the 5c. Dayan tabled 3h3c and her opponent mucked his hand.

With the start of level 9, late registration and re-entry is now closed and the field size for the fourth of six starting flights is now finalized.

There are 458 players who entered Day 1D which adds another $229,000 to the prizepool. That makes the current field size 1,662 entries and a total prizepool of $831,000.

There is a $1 million guarantee on the prizepool and they are on pace to shatter that mark with two more flights to run tomorrow.

In a three-bet pot preflop, three players saw a flop of 8c6h4h. The small blind checked and the Matthew Lombardi checked from the hijack.

Aleksandr Shevelev bet 3,700 from the cutoff and the small blind folded. Lombardi check-raised all in and Shevelev immediately asked for a count. The dealer verified that Lombardi was all in for 37,500 and Shevelev went into the tank for a couple minutes before calling.

Shevelev showed Ac8d, good for top pair, top kicker and was drawing to runners against Lombardi’s 4c4s.

The turn was the As and Shevelev improved to top two pair.

“Don’t do it to me,” said Lombardi after the turn gave Shevelev immediate outs.

The river was the 3c and Lombardi’s set held up to double up. He drags the pot and shoots up the chip counts.

The cutoff raised to 1,025 and Vitor Coelho, winner of the opening $350 No Limit Hold’em Re-Entry, called on the button. The small blind three-bet to 3,125 and only Coelho called.

The flop was Qs8d7s and the small blind bet 5,400. Coelho raised and the small blind moved all in for 28,500 and Coelho called.

Coelho tabled 10s8s, good for middle pair and a flush draw and had plenty of outs against the small blind’s AcAh. The turn was the Jc, to give Coelho a gutshot straight draw as well, but the river was the Kc and Coelho missed all of his outs to give the small blind a double up.

Matt Ehrlich opened to 1,200 in early position, and SHRP Team Member Jessica Dawley three-bet to 4,000 a few seats over. This is the friendliest table in the room, and when action folded back around to Ehrlich, he started to chat. At one point he said to Dawley, “You’re one of my poker heroes.”

“You have terrible poker heroes,” Jon Borenstein chimed in, drawing a laugh from the table.

After about 30 seconds of back-and-forth banter, Ehrlich moved all in for 16,975, and Dawley called to put him at risk. “There are only a few hands that beat me,” Ehrlich said.

“She has one of them,” someone at the table correctly surmised.

The board came AhAdQdJcQc, and even Dawley had to laugh at the run-out. Ehrlich doubled up with quad queens.

There was about 6,000 on the turn with the board reading KcJd6h8c and Aleksandr Shevelev checked from the big blind. His opponent is in middle position and he checked behind.

The river was the 3s and Shevelev tanks for a minute before betting 550. His opponent quickly calls and Shevelev showed Jh9h, good for a pair of jacks and his opponent mucked his hand.

Shevelev won the $250 No Limit Hold’em Turbo trophy earlier this series and has more than tripled his starting stack in this event.

The players from Day 1D have returned from break and level 5 has begun.

At the outset of the level, it is the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event winner Jerry Yang who is leading the field of 373. Yang starts the level with 65,800 and has more than triple his original starting stack.

Yang won $8.25 million for his momentous victory nine years ago, but has been largely absent from the tournament trail over the last several years due to business ventures. He made his first appearance in the South Florida poker scene for this series and is off to a good start.

At the completion of 14 levels of play, Rich Meyer comes out with the chip lead of Day 1C of the $570 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack Re-Entry, finishing with 269,000.

Joining Meyer at the top of the 1C counts are David Gelley, Alan Dobrow and Omar Zalikha with 226,500, 225,000 and 224,500 in chips, respectively. Ryan Van Sanford, Nancy Birnbaum, Seminole Hard Rock Poker Ambassador “Sheddy” Siddiqui, Matt Waxman, Seminole Hard Rock Poker Ambassador Michael Laake, Noah Schwartz, John Holley, Darren Rabinowitz, and Seminole Hard Rock Poker Ambassador Darryll Fish were also among the 93 survivors.

When late registration closed, there were 491 entries in Day 1C, the biggest of all the flights thus far and brings the total field size to 1,204 with another three starting flights to be played.
