Event 1 Day 1G: Do You Know Krux?

$350 Ultimate Re-Entry No Limit Hold’em
Level 12: 1,000/2,000/300 Ante

Al Krux

There are plenty of players in the field fans might recognize and others flying under the radar until they make a big score. There’s one player in today’s field who has some big results that many of the younger folk among us might not know.

Al Krux (pictured above) has earned more than $1.4 million in his career along with a WSOP bracelet and an $800,000 score that came from his notable result (aside from the bracelet win). He has three WSOP Main Event final tables with the last coming in 2004 when it was won by Greg Raymer.

Krux is grinding away today with a chance to move forward.

The final flight is underway in the Ultimate Re-Entry event and each new entrant will push the prize pool further over $1,000,000. This is the chance for players to move a stack forward to Day 2 tomorrow or make the money once again for the bonus multi-stack award.

There’s still plenty of time to get in, late registration and re-entries don’t end until the start of Level 13 at 11:45pm. At that point we’ll have an idea of just how much we’ll be paying out and that big top prize.

The Ultimate Re-Entry hit another milestone in the tenth level when it went over 600 for the seventh flight. That brings the grand total so far to 3,389 entrants with a flight (and hour here) to go.

While Flight G is playing out, dealers and staff (pictured above) are getting ready for another big field in the final flight of the tournament at 5pm.

Through six flights of the Ultimate Re-Entry, we’ve had 27 players earn a $2,500 multi-stack award for getting into the money in more than one flight.

Of those players, we have two who have managed that feat three times total to add $5,000 to their bankroll before playing a hand on Day 2. Gregory Marcus is one of them and he’s back today trying to make it a fourth time in the tournament.

Event 1 Day 1G: Getting Close

$350 Ultimate Re-Entry No Limit Hold’em
Level 6: 200/400/50 Ante

There’s little doubt the Ultimate Re-Entry tournament will hit a $1,000,000 prize pool in the next few levels with only 20 more players needed to get there.

The lore of the big money has us expecting some big cash game players to make their move to the ballroom for a piece of the action including Matt Seidman, Dan Suied, and a few others flying in from the Bahamas earlier than planned.

A betting man would put the smart money on getting to 545 in today’s flight in Level 7.

Flight G had 430 entrants when players returned from the break and it quickly moved over 450 as Level 5 moved forward. There’s a buzz starting in the room that has nothing to do with the NFL game on the big screen.

Local regular Nigel Murray is your early leader at the first break, taking his 15,000 up to 76,000 in two hours. Christopher Lewis, Johnny Ogle, and Catane Evgeniy are also in contention as the other players over 60,000.

Murray finished second in the 2015 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year race to Ory Hen. He has earned more than $500,000 in a career that includes six Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood tournament wins.

Notable counts:

Nigel Murray – 76,675 (256 bb)
Christopher Lewis – 68,950 (230 bb)
