Event 17: Back To Back Eliminations; Down To Nine

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 24: 12,000/24,000/4,000 Ante

Two players quickly went down almost simultaneously and Event 17 has now reached its final table.

The first victim was Dustin Tragethon.  Tragethon was looking in great shape to get a needed double-up holding AcAs against Emil Soffer’s AhQc  but the heart turned out to be the key as a heart flush of 5h9h3hQhKh rolled off and cracked Tragethon’s aces knocking him out in 11th place.

Ruslan Dykshteyn was then dismissed from the tournament.  After Jamie Gomez hit another set against Dykshteyn leaving him with only 7,000 chips.  Dykshetyn doubled up but only delayed the inevitable as he was all-in against Gomez and Sean Yu.  Gomez hit a pair of nines and Dykshetyn mucked his cards finishing in 10th place.

Both players win $939 for their efforts over the past two days.

Event 17: Soffer Chipping Away, Smith Out

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 23: 10,000/20,000/3,000 Ante

David Smith couldn’t survive the big hit he’d taken a few mintues ago and is gone.  Smith lost most of his chips to Jamie Gomez after Smith flopped aces but Gomez flopped a set of nines.  After doubling up, Smith could not hang on and finishes in 12th place.

In the meantime, Emil Soffer has been more than holding his own on the other table.  Soffer took two hands off of Josias Santos and has now gotten to 1.325 million.

Event 20: George Boyadjan – 15th Place ($502)

$250 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 18: 2,500/5,000/500 Ante

George Boyadjan moved all in for his last 48,000 from the cutoff after Jose Navarrette had limped in. He was called by Alex Boytan out of the small blind and Navarrette let his hand go. Boyadjan proudly turned over 9c4d and smiled when he saw Boytan’s KdKc.

Boyadjan picked up some ous on the Jh8d4s flop but the turn was the 7s and the river was the Qh to eliminate him from the tournament in 15th place for $502.

Event 20: 16th-18th Places ($444)

$250 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 17: 2,000/4,000/500 Ante

We’ve lost three players already with the most recent being Tracey Gelb after she moved all in over the top of Kenny Bhakta’s opener for her last 35,000 in chips. Bhakta had AxAx and made the easy call and Gelb needed help with her Kh8h. She would flop a king and turn a flush draw but the river would make Bhakta aces full of fives to give him the pot. Here are the 16th-18th place finishers, each received $444.

16th – Tracey Gelb
17th – Mario Ratto
18th – Tammy Haney
