Overlooking the Waterfall & Palm-Studded Tropical Isle
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino guests playing in this series have the luxury of enjoying the lagoon-style pool.
We saw a couple of players hanging out at the Beach Club pool bar on their off day after bagging chips in earlier flights of the $500,000 Guaranteed event
The 4.5-acre area features cabanas, lounge chairs, a water slide and spa.
Those who soaked up today’s Hollywood, Florida sun will definitely be refreshed and recharged for Sunday’s 1 pm Day 2 restart.

Hobbs & Clifford
“People around here know about it,” says Michael Hobbs (Melbourne, FL), “they call it the Hobbs.”
This is in response to Chris Lindh (Goshen, NY) and his tweet about Hobbs playing 6-4 that we featured here.
Hobbs says he called a preflop raise of 7k when blinds were 50/100 and flopped a straight to knockout his opponent.
“If it’s for my tournament life I won’t play it,” says Hobbs, who has 6-4 tattooed on his arm. “Anything else I’m pretty much going with it.”
Hobbs is also known for his “Clifford” the dog card protector which he first started using 13 years ago when he “borrowed” it from his son.
“He was mad I took it and snapped the head off,” laughed Hobbs who’s son Justin was 3-years-old at the time.
Hobb’s is currently on his seventh version of the toy and says he’s had to order them from China and Russia.
Hobbs was formerly in the real estate business and has been grinding poker full time the last six years which includes a 2013 win in the Seminole Hard Rock 2013 Poker Open ($21,000) .
Hobbs and Clifford playing 6-4 every chance he gets.

Montel Williams
The second weekend of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown means more recognizable faces are in the tournament fields.
TV personality Montel Williams is today’s celebrity sighting. Williams is often seen playing in Atlantic City and recently picked up his first career recorded live win earlier this year in Las Vegas.
“Definitely,” says the Daytime Emmy Award winner, when asked if he’ll be at Sunday’s final table. Williams hosted his eponymous talk show from 1991-2008.
So far so good for Williams as players head towards their first break of the day.
