Main Event Final: Prado Doubles Through Waxman

$1,500 + $150 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Poker Open” Main Event

Blinds: 10k/20k/3k ante

It took only 30 minutes to knock out four players on the final day but it was another hour before another all-in and call.

Matt Waxman opened for a min-raise from middle position and Javier Prado came along from the button to the 8d3h2h flop. Waxman bet 60k and Prado called once again to see 6s on the turn. It was another check-call of 100k by Prado heading to the Tc river and Waxman responded by putting Prado all-in for his last 317k.

After taking 30 seconds to consider, Prado called with JhTh for top pair. Good enough to beat Waxman’s 5c5d and double up to 1,050,000 while Waxman dropped to 1,800,000.

Main Event Final: 11th Place, John Piscopo $10,628

$1,500 + $150 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Poker Open” Main Event

Blinds: 8k/16k/2k ante

It took just 30 minutes of play to drop down to 10 players remaining and the unofficial final table.

Tyler Stafman opened the action from middle position to 32k before John Piscopo three-bet all-in for 280k total in the small blind. Waxman asked Stafman how much had behind then moved all-in when he heard the “about 700k” answer. Stafman took a long time to make his decision but eventually folded ThTc.

Waxman tabled QhQd which was well ahead of Piscopo’s Ac7h. The board brought little drama for Waxman but the rest of table gave a chuckle at Td6d6s flop. Stafman would have flopped a boat and then turned quads with the Ts. No save on the  3s river and Piscopo was the next out in 11th place for $10,628.

Staff paused the clock to redraw for the unofficial final table.

Main Event Final: 12th Place, John Cynn $10,628

$1,500 + $150 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Poker Open” Main Event

Blinds: 8k/16k/2k ante

Mark Morono opened for 100k before John Cynn moved all-in over the top for just under 500k. Morono quickly called and it was two big hands against each other.

Cynn was all-in with JhJd and in trouble against Morono’s KhKs. The Tc8c3d flop did not improve Cynn’s hand but he picked up an open-ended straight draw with the 9c turn. Morono dodged 10 outs to send Cynn out of the tournament in 12th place for $10,628.

Main Event Final: 13th Place, Michael Landress $8,676

$1,500 + $150 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Poker Open” Main Event

Blinds: 8k/16k/2k ante

Table 40 produced another quick knockout. Michael Landress began the final day with just 98,000 and he put them in the middle with KdQs. Kevin Spires, another short stack, called the bet with the dominating AcQc.

Landress was stuck looking for a miracle but the dealer provided none when the board ran out 9d8h3h3s4d. Spires needed a lot of love and look to move up the tables but was eliminated in 13th place for $8,676.

Main Event Final: 14th Place, Nigel Murray $8,676

$1,500 + $150 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Poker Open” Main Event

Blinds: 8k/16k/2k ante

It didn’t take long to lose our first player and it was a regular here in The Poker Room at Seminole Hard Rock. Nigel Murray opeedn the action to 37k and Matt Waxman came along to the AsKd7s flop.

Murray snap-called a 40k bet from Waxman to see the Td turn and then checked-called another bet of 110k. The Ah came on the river and Murray called after Waxman put him all-in. Waxman tabled 7d7c for the full house while Murray flashed an Ace, not good enough and he was our first player out today in 14th place for $8,676.
