Event 8: Someone Is All In? I Call!

$200 + $40 No Limit Hold’em Black Chip Bounty

Blinds: 400/800 Ante 100

Usually when someone goes all in, they might get one… maybe two… callers. In a Black Chip Bounty tournament, that goes right out the window. In a recent hand, a short stack moved all in for just under three big blinds. A player re-raised attempting to isolate. He failed miserably as three other players called and five saw the flop. The flop came Queen high and the pre-flop re-raiser bet and everyone folded. The short stack showed A-6 and his hopeful foe Q-T. The board bricked out and the pair of queens was good for the knock out and the $100 bounty.

16 players remain.

Event 7: Pick One

$500  + $60 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack

Blinds 2K/4K Ante 500

With the board reading Q-J-7-5-Q, a player in Seat 6 led out for 5K and was raised by the big stack in Seat 1 to 27K. After thinking for a moment, the initial bettor re-raised to 50K… almost but not quite a minimum raise. The big stack instantly folded. “You wanna see,” asked the player as the chips were pushed to him. “Sure,” said the big stack, not passing up an opportunity for free information. “I’ll let you pick one,” was the response. The big stack pointed to the card on the right and Seat 6 turned over a 7, giving the impression that he had pocket 7’s for a full house.

“Did you lay down a queen there?” asked Seat 6.

“No,no,” laughed the big stack.

“Thank you,” Seat 6 laughed. “I might have gone on tilt if you had.”

Event 7 Update And Random Photos

$500  + $60 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack

Blinds 1.2K/2.4K Ante 400

There are 27 players remaining. In a recent hand, Juliet Yarina found herself being check-raised on a 8-8-2-3 board. She asked the dealer to hand her the All In button and tossed it into the middle. Her opponent quickly called and turned over A-8. A frustrated Yarina sighed and said “how the f*** do you have an 8” as she turned over pocket Kings. It was a blind vs blind hand gone wrong for Juliet and when the river was a ten she was done for the day.

Event 7 Update

$500  + $60 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack

Blinds 1K/2K Ante 300

There are 33 players remaining. With 15 getting paid, we should get to the money within the next couple of hours.  Juliet Yarina is still in the field. Unfortunately, her table mate Zach Kessler has just been eliminated. He said he’ll be back Friday for the $250,000 Guaranteed tournament. Also joining Kessler on the rail is well known poker professional Adam “Roothlus” Levy who recently headed out of the tournament area.
