Event 7: Day 2 Begins

After six starting flights that generated a total of 3,389 entries, Day 2 of Event 7 ($560 No-Limit Hold’em) is underway. Just shy of 816 players are back at it (some players had multiple stacks because of re-entires) and the plan for the day is to play down to a winner. The average stack is abotu 104,000 and on top of the chip counts entering the day is Pedro “Pete” Rios with 453,500.

Levels are 40 minutes with a break after every three levels. Play starts at Level 15, with the blinds at 1,500/3,000 and a 300 ante.

Event 7, Day 1F: Play Ends With 196 Left

Action has come to an end for the final flight of Event 7 ($560 NLHE w/ $1 Million Guarantee), though it is going to take a while to process all of the chip bags and compile the official chip counts. We will be working on that for the next hour or so, and we will post the results here as soon as we can.

Unofficially, it looks like there will be 816 players returning for Day 2.

Here are the official Day 2 chip counts.

Event 10 ($240 HORSE): Mark Robinson Leads Final 11 Into Day 2

Event 10 ($240 HORSE) came to an end a short while ago with 11 players remaining, and they will return to action tomorrow at 3:00 pm.

Make special note of that, because the original schedule said Day 2 would start at 1:00 pm. But because of the huge field in Event 7, there won’t be any room for it. So it’ll be a 3:00 pm start.

Here are the official chip counts, along with the five players who busted in the money:

1.  Mark Robinson  –  149,000
2.  Jason Like  –  140,000
3.  Bruce Zalkin  –  115,000
4.  Jordan Chizick  –  87,000
5.  Gary Flur  –  84,000
6.  Ronald Unber  –  58,000
7.  Barry Levy  –  56,000
8.  Bob Poolos  –  55,000
9.  Ed Ward  –  28,000
10.  Chris Kasper  –  24,000
11.  Ralph Broderick, Jr.  –  20,000

12th:  Arnold Cohen  –  $428
13th:  Ky MacPherson  –  $306
14th:  Wendell Morse  –  $306
15th:  Michelle Lau  –  $306
16th:  Joseph Antelo  –  $306

Action will resume tomorrow (Sunday) at 3:00 pm ET.

Event 7, Day 1F: Chipleaders at the Final Break of the Day

On Day 1 of large-field tournaments, the chipleading stacks at the break always get larger. It’s a certainty, like death or taxes. You can set your watch on it.

Well, maybe not.

Amazingly, the chipleader after four levels had more chips than the chipleader after six levels. Moises Natanel had 265,000 after eight levels, but he dropped down to about 180,000 after 12 levels. But his lead had been so big, that four levels wasn’t long enough for anyone to catch him.

As the blinds increase to 1,000-2,000 with a 200 ante, here’s a look at the new batch of chipleaders (everyone over 200K in chips):

T-1.  Jason Hobbs  –  230,000  (115 bb)
T-1.  Mario Hudson  –  230,000  (115 bb)
3.  Mark Wahba  –  223,000  (111 bb)
4.  Theo Lawson  –  215,000  (107 bb)
5.  Arturo Garcia  –  208,000  (104 bb)

The field will play another hour (two levels), and then stop for the night.

Event 10 ($240 HORSE): Official Chip Counts

There are 15 players remaining in Event 10 ($240 HORSE), and they are in the money. They just took a break, and they will play another 45 minutes or so and stop around 2:00 am.

Here are the official chip counts from the break, with the limits increasing to 3,000-6,000:

15th:  Michelle Lau  –  $306
16th:  Joseph Antelo  –  $306

Note:  This event was originally scheduled for a 1:00 pm restart, but since the Event 7 field is so huge, there won’t be any room to play. The restart has been rescheduled for 3:00 pm.

Event 10 ($240 HORSE): In the Money!

The field is down to the final two tables (16 players) in Event 10 ($240 HORSE), which means they are in the money. Here’s the prizepool that they’re playing for:
