We expected a huge turnout for Flight G this morning and were not wrong. The Grand Ballroom is quickly filling and closing on 400 before the first hour is up.

Some friendly faces in morning action include Marsha Wolak, Diane Linke, Marcus Gurley, Frank Russo, Gili Simon, Rotem Halbani, Noah Schwartz, and Lou Stadler.

Wolak, champion Pickleballer (and also WSOP bracelet winner), already knocked one player out to sit among the leaders and Linke ran deep in our last big event, finishing 19th out of 4,772 in Showdown Event 1.

The second weekend of the Showdown series is here and the last two flights of Event 26 run today, the first at 10 am and the last at 5 pm. The $600 Deep Stack will surpass its $2,000,000 guarantee at some point today; if it’s not in Flight G, it will get there when cards go in the air for Flight H.

Event 26 players start with 20K stacks and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes and increase to 40 minutes on Day 2 then 60 with Level 26. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 2:30 pm and they can re-enter as often as needed during that time.

Flight G will end when 12.5% of the field remains and survivors will return tomorrow at 1 pm in the money.

Event 30 of the 2024 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown was a $600 Limit Omaha 8 (Re-Entry). A field of 89 entries produced a prize pool of $46,280 and winning the lion’s share of it was Ryan Hoenig, emerging victorious outright for the $14,675 first-place prize.

Hoenig’s victory comes on the heels of his win just one night before in Event 27, which proceeded back-to-back runner-up finishes in Events 21 and 24.
