“Nobody wants to hear a bad beat story, baby,” says WSOP Hall of Famer Scotty Nguyen moments after busting. “You can’t get mad at the cards or the player, you can only go home and think about what happened.”
Nguyen started the day with an above average stack, but says he couldn’t get anything going on Day 2 of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship Event.
“I got good cards and a good flop, but was always second best. And if you’re second, you’re nothing,” he said.
After getting knocked out Nguyen stopped by the pool on his way from the Ballroom to the casino. “We don’t have rain like this in Vegas,” said Nguyen as he watched the downpour. “It makes me think of family. It’s nice.”
The ultra suave poker ambassador keeping things in perspective.
“Maybe if I new about this I wouldn’t have played the last hand,” he laughed as he headed to the Hard Rock Cafe for a beverage.
