RRPO Championship Preview — $3,500 Buy-in, $2M Guaranteed

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open Championship begins tomorrow with the first of two starting flights. Boasting a $3,500 buy-in and $2,000,000 guarantee, the event is expected to draw a field well in excess of 600 entries. Last year’s tournament enjoyed a turnout of more than 750 generating a prize pool of nearly $2,500,000. Seminole Hard Rock Poker team member Jessica Dawley finished 6th while the title of champion went to Cincinnati’s Jake Bazeley. For his championship efforts, Bazeley earned over $568,000.

Tomorrow’s event runs as part of the 2016/2017 SHRP season and will be live streamed on SHRPO.com as well as filmed for a later airing on Poker Night in America’s “The Final Table”. Here are the details:

$3,500 Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open Championship:

  • $2,000,000 guaranteed. $5,250 SHRPO Championship seat added
  • Day 1A, Friday at 12-noon — Day 1B, Saturday at 12-noon
  • Players begin with 30,000 chips
  • Day 1 and 2 levels are 60 minutes, Day 3 and 4 levels are 90 minutes, Day 6 levels are 60 minutes and heads-up levels are 30 minutes
  • Late registration/re-entry available until start of Level 6
  • This is a five-day tournament with two starting flights
  • All in-the-money finishers earn SHRP Player of the Year points
