From 124 starting, the Seniors field is down to 18 and in the money. It took a few rounds of hand-for-hand play, but William Vo took control picking up AhJc and busting the KhQh of an unknown opponent. The pair got the money in preflop and Vo spiked an ace to guarantee the remaining 18 players a payday.

As he was quick to point out, Vo is no stranger to deep tournament runs. He finished 5th in last August’s WPT Legends of Poker Main Event for more than $113,000.

Stewart Newman (Coral Gables, FL)

Stewart Newman was in good shape for a big bag in last night’s flight but it did not end well for the Seminole Hard Rock team member. He was knocked out on the last hand of the night but joined us late in Flight E trying to make it through Level 14 again.

Event 1 Flight E: Eskandar Firing Again

$360 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Patrick Eskandar (Gulfport, MS)
Patrick Eskandar (Gulfport, MS)

Sometimes you just have to take a chance, and that’s exactly what Patrick Eskandar is doing today. He made it through all 14 levels in Flight C and had 67,500 ready to bring back for Day 2 on Sunday.

Then he saw a chance to run up a bigger stack with four more flights to go and forfeited his stack. Eskandar was the last player to jump in Flight E, looking for some good luck and big cards.

Michael Laake (Punta Gorda, FL)

Not only was 600 still in play, they cruised right past it without a second thought. We have 625 in the mix right now with a few more minutes remaining in the level, plus the 15-minute break, to run it up further.

Seminole Hard Rock Poker team member Michael Laake was among the late entrants and found himself seated at one of the tables rarely used at the edge of the room. The six-time SHRP champion didn’t dwell on the fringes for long, his table broke quickly to mix him in with the rest of the crowd.

Event 3: Prize Pool and Payouts

Event 1 Flight E: Kozelski Quadruples Up

$360 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 7: 250/500 with a 50 Ante
Flight E Entrants: 580

Steve Kozelski found a good time for aces
Steve Kozelski found a good time for aces

There was some commotion in the middle of the room and when we arrived we found two players already all-in with action waiting on the small blind. Not to be left out, he moved all-in as well and Steve Kozelski quickly put his stack in the middle from the big blind.

It must have been nice to see all that action while he was sitting there, waiting, with AsAh. He was up against 7h7d from early position, AdJd from the cutoff, and the small blind’s AcQc. Kozelski had a club sweat after the 6c5c3h flop, faded the 2s turn, and the other three players were called for a four-ball but he held on the 6h river for two KOs and a 72,000 stack.
