On a flop of AsTd2h, Ari Engel checked from the big blind and Michael Tureniec bet 25,000 from middle position. William Farnan called from the hijack and Engel check-raised to 77,000.

Tureniec didn’t waste too much time before folding and Farnan took about 25 seconds before moving all in for about 285,000. Engel quickly called.

Farnan was drawing to runners with his KsTs against Engel’s AcTc.

The turn was the 3d, which left Farnan drawing dead to the 5d river card. The stacks were pretty close to even, but Engel had 300,000 and had Farnan just barely covered.

Farnan was eliminated in 48th place and earned $7,760 for his run.

Pupillo was racing with his 2s2h up against Bowers’ AdKh.

The board ran out 9s3s3c7cQc and Pupillo won the pot. He doubled up just before another player at a neighboring table was eliminated and the final 27 players redrew for seats at the final three tables.

Hen showed TcTd and was in great shape against Palacios’ AsTs.

The flop was 8d6h4s, keeping Hen in the lead. The turn was the 7s, giving Palaciso the nut flush draw and some straight outs to chop.

“No more,” said Hen about the spade draw. “Not like that.”

The river was the 6s and Palacios made his flush to double through Hen.

There was yet another preflop battle at Lascelles Peart’s table, but this time it was for one of the biggest pots of the tournament thus far.

Peart was all in from the small blind for about 400,000 and got called by Amir Tawfik from under the gun.

Peart tabled Ad9d and was in rough shape against Tawfik’s 9c9s.

The flop was QdTs9h, keeping Tawfik well ahead, but the 2d turn card gave Peart much more equity with the nut flush draw. The river was the Th and Tawfik hit the rail in 66th place. He took home $5,800 for his efforts.

Tawfik won the pot and takes the tournament chip lead.

“Diamond,” said Vohra, trying to coerce the poker gods to fill his flush draw.

The river was the Qs and Stammen doubled up.

Raj Vohra – 31,000
