The Eight-Game Mix always draws a talented crowd and two of our best are spinning up stacks as they get deep into the tournament.

David Shmuel and Phil Hui have 18 major Hollywood titles between them (ten for David, eight for Phil) and both have big stacks with 25 players remaining.

Shmuel sits with 101,300, and Hui has 91,400 as the field prepares to take its 45-minute dinner break after this level.

Flight D of RRPO Event 1 gets underway at 5 pm and the fourth of eight flights for the $400 Deep Stack. Halfway done with a huge weekend coming up as they chase the $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Players start with 20K deep stacks and Day 1 levels last 30 minutes, increasing to 40 at the start of Day 2 and 60 minutes with Level 24. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 9:30 pm and players may re-enter as often as needed.

They will continue until only 10% of the field remains and survivors will return on Sunday at 1 pm for Day 2.

We have some added value in this tournament in the form of Club WPT Gold Passports. One will be awarded to the Day 2 returning chip leader and the nine players at the final table. The passport is good for an entry into their $5 Million Freeroll, which takes place at Wynn Las Vegas on Dec 13-15, 2024.

We thought Jessica Cai would be among the leaders at the break and we were mostly right. She is the leader at the break with 228,000 in her stack to pace the field.

There’s a long way to go, with only 67 of the 207 remaining booking a spot on Day 2, but she is in a good position for a deep run.
