Seniors and Start of $1 Million Guarantee Highlight Thursday’s Action

Thursday’s action at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown was centered around the Seniors No Limit Hold’em and the start of the $570 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack Re-Entry, which carries a $1 million guaranteed prizepool.

Former Olympic equestrian rider Federico Castaing took down the Seniors title after besting a field of 161 to earn $9,804 and his first trophy of his poker career.

While the Seniors were crowning a champion, one of the most popular events of the series kicked off.

The first two of six starting flights of the $570 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack Re-Entry event got cards in the air.

Day 1A started at 11 a.m. and garnered 379 entries. Day 1B kicked off at 6 p.m. and there were 334 entrants in the second flight of the day. There are still four starting flights to be played on Friday and Saturday before the field merges for Day 2 on Sunday.

Through two flights of play, Joshua Hood has a massive chip lead over the field with 389,500 in chips. Nobody else is within 100,000 chips of him.
