The first flight field moved into the second level of the day and they were joined by Seminole Hard Rock team member Matt Affleck.

He represented the team well this summer in Las Vegas. The Seattle native cashed five times in the World Series of Poker including a tenth place finish in the massive-field $1,500 Monster Stack and Affleck followed that up with a final table, third place result in the $1,500 Event 56 for nearly $185,000.

Flight 1A is quickly climbing and we should be looking at the next milestone once we hit the afternoon hours.

The waiting is over and the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open is set to kick off at the top of the hour. The first tournament of 28 main events will start at 11am and the festival will be underway.

The opening tournament is a huge-field, big money event with a $360 buy-in and $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. There are six starting flights to give players plenty of chances to advance to Day 2 on Sunday.

They sit down to 20,000 stacks out front and play 30-minute levels throughout the day. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 around 3:30pm and they’ll finish up the night after Level 14.

The opening event is big for every series, but SHRPO builds them even higher. Tables are set, dealers are prepped, and cards will fly shortly.
