Event 4: Josh Kay Takes a Hit

A player moves all in for 5,525 from under-the-gun and Ely Levy calls from the small blind. Josh Kay moves all in for about 41,000 out of the big blind and Levy folds, leaving Kay heads-up with his all in opponent.

Kay shows AsJh, but is dominated by his opponent’s AcKd. The board runs out 9s6s2d3c4s and the under-the-gun player triples up just before the field heads on a break.

Now that the business of getting Event 1 in the money is complete, we popped over to the smaller meeting room to check on the Event 4 field. They are up to an even 50 players midway through Level 4 with late still open for more than four hours.

Some of those in early attendance are Loni Harwood, Zo Karim, Daren Stabinski, Abbey Daniels, and Seminole Hardrock Poker Player of the Year contender TK Miles (pictured above).

The small ballroom has been prepared for the start of Event 4, and the kickoff time has arrived. This $1,100 no-limit hold’em event carries a guaranteed prizepool of at least $75,000.

Here are the rest of the vitals:

  • Players begin with 12,000 in tournament chips
  • Registration and re-entry are open through the start of Level 11
  • There is a 40-minute dinner break after Level 10
  • Day 1 concludes at the end of Level 16
  • Levels 1-16 are 30 minutes apiece
  • Levels 17+ are 40 minutes apiece
  • This is a two-day event
