Patrick Eskandar and Kenneth Watson were heads-up on a flop. Eskandar was first to act from middle position, and he checked. Watson bet 200 from the button, and Eskandar called.

The turn was the , and Eskandar checked again. When Watson bet 500, though, Eskandar check-raised to 1,200. Watson re-raised to 3,200, and Eskandar called.

The river was the . Eskandar checked for the third time, and Watson bet 4,000. Eskandar surrendered his cards into the muck, slipping back to starting stack as he forfeited his early profits.

Kenneth Watson – 21,500
Patrick Eskandar – 20,000

Flight D Entries: 215

More than 200 entries piled into the back of the ballroom before the end of the first level, a huge number that should make this the biggest flight of the tournament so far. It doesn’t seem like a longshot to surpass the 458 entries from this morning’s ongoing session.

Seminole Hard Rock Poker team member Sheddy Siddiqui is making his first appearance in the ballroom this series and he looks set to make some noise.

The fourth flight of the $1,000,000 Guaranteed Event 1 is getting set to kick off in the back of the ballroom and ready to add more entries on top of the big crowd so far.

The first three flights combined for 1,195 entries and this evening will move the prize pool closer seven-digit territory. Ruslan Dykshteyn, defending $1,100 Big 4 champ, bagged up more than 250,000 in Flight B and holds the current Day 2 lead.

Entrants begin with 20,000 starting stacks and play 30-minute levels throughout the opening flights. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 10:30pm and they will continue to play until the end of Level 14. Those with chips will put them in a bag for a return on Sunday for Day 2.

Dealers are ready, players are taking their seats, and cards will fly at 6pm.

• $1,000,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool
• Players begin with 20,000 in chips and 30-minute levels
• Late registration/re-entry available until start of Level 9

Level 12: 800/1,600 with a 200 ante
Flight C Entries: 458
Players Remaining: 170

Flight C players took their final break of the day and the fast shrinking field will work their way through three more levels today before the bagging process begins.

SHRP regular Max Romano is the clear leader in the late stages and his 255,000 would be good enough for the overall lead if he can tread water. But players don’t do that, he’ll be trying to push it higher before they wrap up.

Other players in contention for the end-of-day lead are Ryan Olisar, Matthew Humphrey, and Kevin Scarola.

We caught the action in the middle of the room with everything run out, stacks being count down, and SHRP favorite Michael Tait looking decidedly unhappy with aces sitting in front of him.

It was a three-way all-in with Tait holding aces against and . He had the biggest stack and it was a good thing after the dealer ran the board.

Tait’s aces immediately fell behind the flopped top two, dropped into third best on the flush giving turn, and the shortest stack saved his stack with the river boat.

Tait still held a workable stack of 45,000 but it could have been much more.

Jacquelyn Scott’s stack has been on a rollercoaster ride over the last few minutes. It began when she ran her queens into an opponent’s kings to knock her down to only 300.

Without looking at her cards, she put those chips in the middle on the next hand and three other players came along for the ride. The board was checked down until the opponent on her right bet out 2,500 on the river.

That was good enough for the side pot with rivered aces up before Scott checked her cards for the first time. She tabled flopped top two than sat back down in her new quadruple. It still wasn’t that much but she quickly ran that higher with another (more than) double and sits with 14,000.

Still far below the chip average but no longer in “shove-any-two-cards-dark” danger.

Registration is now closed on Flight C of the $1,000,000 Guaranteed Event 1 with 458 entries pushing the combined total to 1,195 for the first three flights.

That leaves the tournament only 805 entries shy of hitting the guaranteed prize pool and it should not take long to get there on Saturday afternoon.

We expect somewhere near 90 players to bag up later this evening once Level 14 is complete to join the 147 who already booked their spot for Day 2 on Saturday.

The entry count hit 441 to match the numbers for Flight A with five minutes left before the second break. That all but guarantees we top Flight A before the level ends or during the break. Registration will close at 3:30 when they return.

Wally Maddah is back in the ballroom after a tough Flight B. The Seminole Hard Rock Tampa poker ambassador made it through most of the day before busting out late in the evening shortly before bagging. Maddah has several SHR Tampa wins and he popped another nice score this summer when he won a Rio Deepstacks event during the WSOP.

Local favorite Jacquelyn Scott found herself on the short end of the stacks after the first break and took a shot to double up. Action folded to her on the button and she put her entire stack in the middle (literally ON the button). Her 14,550 shove was called by the big blind with less and the hands were tabled.

“You’re ahead until the turn!” her neighbor joked. “He always hits.”

The 2015 WSOP Ladies Champion had to dodge two live cards before she smacked the flop.

“That’s a lot of fives,” the local jokester joked.

The turn locked up the hand for Scott and she moved over 25,000.
