Event 9 Day 1B: Daren Stabinski Multi-Tabling

$570 No Limit Hold’em Re-Entry
Level 3: 75/150 with a 25 ante
Flight 1A Entries: 196

Daren Stabinski
Daren Stabinski

There is about 5,000 in the pot with a completed board of Ad4s2dJc4h and Daren Stabinski checks from the big blind.

The cutoff bets 3,300 and Stabinski quickly check-calls. The cutoff shows AhJs, good for top two pair. Stabinski sighs and shows AsQh, good for top pair and was three-outed on the turn.

Stabinski loses the pot, but this isn’t the only tournament he’s currently in. Stabinski is still in the $250 satellite that awards two $570 seats and a seat into the $1,050 turbo satellite into the $10,000 WPT Finale.

There are 10 players left in the satellite and the top seven cash with the top six players earning seats. Stabinski has 83,000 in the satellite while the average stack is 57,000.

Stabinski is already having a strong series with a second place finish in the $350 No Limit Hold’em Black Chip Bounty event.

Daren Stabinski – 12,000

Event 9 Day 1A: Jimmy Kim Ends Day with the Lead

Play has come to an end for the first flight of the $1 Million Guarantee Event 9 with 71 players moving on to Day 2 on Sunday.

There were several big stacks during the bagging process but it was Jimmy Kim loading up the most. His 251,000 is good enough to lead for now but there will be five more flights of players trying to chase him down.

Official chip counts will be released as soon as they are available.

Event 9 Day 1A: Darryll Fish Eliminated

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 14: 1,200/2,400 with 400 Ante
Flight 1A Players Remaining: 89 of 379

Brandon Miller moved all in for 33,400 in the cutoff, and Darryll Fish re-shoved for just less than 40,000 in the small blind. Miller was at risk, flipping for his tournament life.

Miller: 4s4c
Fish: AsKh

The board ran out Qs9d4dAcAc, and the running aces weren’t enough to scare Miller. He flopped a set and rivered a full house, doubling up.

Fish was left with just 6,000 chips, and two hands later, he called a Miller raise to put himself all in for 5,200. John Templeton re-shoved behind them both, though, and Miller folded to let them fight heads up.

Fish: 4h6h
Templeton: AsKh

The board ran out Ah9h8cKdAc, and Templeton earned the knockout with aces full.

Brandon Miller – 74,000 (31 bb)
John Templeton – 54,000 (23 bb)
Darryll Fish – Eliminated

Players are back and ready to grind out two more levels of action before calling it a day. They quickly broke a table upon return and less than 100 remain.

The two biggest stacks belong to Sam Zalmanov (206,000) and WSOP Circuit winner A.J. Kelsall (190,000). Defending champ Leonard Benitez is also comfortable with 87,000 along with Darryll Fish at 52,000.

Event 9 Day 1B: Shuffle Up and Deal

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 25/50

Day 1A drew 379 entries, setting a strong early pace for this $1,000,000 guaranteed re-entry event. While that flight is nearing the conclusion of their day, another flight is just beginning on the other side of the room.

Day 1B will follow the same format as this morning’s flight, with 20,000-chip starting stacks and 30-minute levels all day long. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at about 10:30 p.m. Flight B will end at the conclusion of Level 14, and the survivors from all six starting flights will advance Sunday’s combined Day 2.

Here are the vitals in short form, if bulleted lists are more your thing:

  • $1,000,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool
  • Players begin with 20,000 in chips and 30-minute levels
  • Late registration/re-entry available until start of Level 9
  • Day 1 flights will end after Level 14

Players are heading on their final break of the day with 13 tables remaining. They’ll return to play two more levels before bagging up.

Reigning Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year Ory Hen will not be one of them. He moved all-in with his short stack minutes before the break but his Jh4s could not run down Kc9d for all his chips.

Event 9 Day 1A: Greg Ostrander Doubles Through Sam Panzica

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 11: 600/1,200 with 200 Ante
Flight 1A Players Remaining: 144 of 379

Sam Panzica opened to 3,000 in early position, and a player behind him three-bet to 8,000. Greg Ostrander cold-four-bet shoved for 25,200 on the button, and Panzica re-shoved over the top for about 30,000 total. The third player folded, leaving Ostrander heads up for his tournament life.

Panzica: TsTd
Ostrander: KhKc

The board ran out Ad7h6s5d4s, and Ostrander’s kings held to earn him the double-up.
