Level 1: 200/400 with a 50 ante

Ray Qartomy opened the pot with an early-position raise, Adam Geyer called next to act, and Alan Schein defended his big blind to create three-way action.

The flop was Ad5c4h. Schein checked, Qartomy continued for 2,200, and Geyer called. Schein check-raised to 6,000, and both opponents folded. Schein won the pot.

On the next hand, Geyer opened to 1,100, and Schein three-bet to 4,200 in the big blind. The flop was AdQd6d. Schein continued for 4,000, and Geyer called. The turn was the 6s, and Schein bet 10,000. Geyer folded, and Schein dragged his second consecutive pot.

Schein has been particularly active in the early-going today, and his stack has benefitted as a result.

Mike Leah is the newest entry in the field, joining a six-handed table that contains Chance Kornuth, Jonathan Little, and Ian O’Hara.

Leah opened to 800 from the cutoff on his first hand at the table, and Kornuth three-bet to 3,100 in the small blind. Leah paused, dropping two chips onto his cards to cap them while he pondered.

“Good morning,” Leah said.

“Good morning, buddy,” Kornuth answered with a big smile. “How are you?”

Leah called the three-bet, and both players checked through the Kc7c6c flop. The turn was the 5h, and Kornuth bet 4,700. Leah folded.

“That’s what I like to see,” Kornuth said as the dealer pushed him the pot.
