Level 9: 400/800 with a 100 ante
Flight A Entries: 446

Jeff Gross

Flight A is approaching our count from last year’s opening flight and it looks like we should get there, or close, in the next 90 minutes before registration closes on the opening session.

Jeff Gross is among the big group of players who flew directly from the Bahamas to Hollywood for the WPTDeepStacks Main Event. And he picked up some hardware while he was over there. Gross won a small tournament during the PokerStars Championship but it wasn’t even in the neighbor of his biggest career cashes.

Gross has nearly a half dozen WSOP final table appearances, third place at a WPT televised final table in Montreal, and scored his top payout of $414,770 for third place in the WPT Alpha8 event during the 2013 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open.

Main Event Day 1: Dawley Up; Conniff Out

$1,100 WPTDeepStacks Main Event
Level 8: 300/600 with a 75 ante
Flight A Entries: 437

Jessica Dawley

Jessica Dawley was a late entrant into Flight A but she’s making the most of her time since she walked in. The Seminole Hard Rock Poker team member ran her 25,000 starting over 80,000 in a few levels and using them to her advantage.

On the other side, former WPT World Champion Asher Conniff got his last chips in the middle with an open-ended straight and flush draw against aces. He had nearly half of the deck in his favor but blanked the turn and river to exit Flight A.
