The player in the hijack raised to 1,800 and Charlemagne Benjamin three-bet to 5,000 on the button. The hijack called and the flop was Qs5c3s.

The hijack checked and Benjamin bet 5,000. The hijack quickly folded and Benjamin took the pot. In the one level of play since the break, Benjamin has almost doubled his stack without a big pot at showdown.

Event 5 Flight F: Last Chance Starts at 7 PM

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 25/50

Through five flights of the $150 no limit hold’em re-entry event, the field has already amassed 1,481 entries and cruised past the $150,000 guaranteed prizepool.

The last of the starting flights gets underway in just a couple minutes at 7 p.m. and with just 186 entries in Day 1F, the prizepool will have over $200,000.

Players will start with 10,000 in tournament chips and the schedule for the day is the same as the first five flights. They will play 14, 30-minute levels before bagging and tagging their chips for the day.  There is late registration and unlimited re-entry until the start of level 7, which is around 10:20 p.m.

The survivors of the 14 levels will come back tomorrow at 1 p.m. to combine into a single field with the survivors of the first five flights and play Day 2.

Event 5 Flight D: Dropping Quickly

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 11: 600/1,200 with a 200 Ante

Al Gomez

Flight D is moving right along in the front of the ballroom, only six tables remain and we expect them to drop under 30 players before they bag up after Level 14.

Local favorite Al Gomez is still cruising along. He’s still looking for his first SHRP title though he’s had his fair share of final table appearance. Gomez scored his biggest cash last March when he earned $20,000 for finishing third in the 2016 Seminole Casino Immokalee Poker Challenge Main Event.
