Vittorio Maraone

Play has come to an end for the first flight of Event 9 with 65 players still around for Day 2 on Sunday. Vittorio Maraone surged late to bag the lead with 309,000 at a tough table that including Loni Harwood, Phil Hui, and Ryan Dunn.

Event 9 Flight A: Kenny Nguyen Eliminated

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 14: 1,200/2,400 with a 400 Ante
Flight A Players Remaining: 90 of 359

Kenny Nguyen was just moved to a new table with a short stack, and he wasted no time putting his remaining chips to work.

Nguyen opened the last pot with a raise in middle position, Jessica Dawley called in the cutoff, and Denis Cyr called on the button to create three-way action.

The flop was Js5d4d, and Nguyen moved all in for 26,300. Dawley folded, but Cyr quickly called to put Nguyen at risk. “Uh oh,” Nguyen said. “I need a three.”

Nguyen: As2h
Cyr: KcJc

Nguyen was drawing live to aces, as well, but the Kh turn took away those three outs. “Now I really need a three,” he said. The river was the Jd, though, and Cyr won the knockout pot with jacks full.

“Good luck everybody,” the chatty Nguyen said as he stood up. “I’ll see you guys on Day 2. Hopefully.” With that, he headed straight to the cashier to purchase a ticket for Day 1B, which has just gotten under way on the other side of the room.

Denis Cyr – 80,000 (33 bb)
Kenny Nguyen – Eliminated

Event 9 Flight A: David Bradshaw Setting Goals

Level 7: 250/500 with a 75 Ante
Flight A Entries: 325

David Bradshaw

Flight A easily topped 300 entries this afternoon with 45 minutes left to get in the game. One of the late entrants is David Bradshaw who recently set himself a new goal.

A few days ago, Bradshaw wrote on social media:

“Goal for the next few months!! Player of the year!! #goalset”

He was referencing the fact that he currently sits in second place in the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year race after he won the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Winter Poker Open Championship. Bradshaw trails only Nathan Papp who holds the top spot thanks to a 1st and 2nd place finish in Seminole Immokalee Poker majors.
