Nick Petrangelo moved all in under the gun for 56,000 and action folded to reigning champ Marvin Rettenmaier, who called from the big blind.

Petrangelo: AhQd
Rettenmaier: As8c

Petrangelo had the better kicker and shipped the double after the board ran out Ac7s3s5c5s.

Nick Petrangelo – 115,000 (19 bb)
Marvin Rettenmaier – 300,000 (50 bb)

Jonathan Little

Earlier in the day, Jonathan Little was the victim of a cooler in which his opponent flopped quads and he ran out a useless full house. In the most recent pot, quads found Little once again, but he was on the good side this time.

Little opened the cutoff to 12,000, and Ray Qartomy three-bet shoved for 124,500 in the small blind. Little had just slightly more than that, and he was ready to play.

“Okay, buddy,” he said, calling to put Qartomy at risk.

Little: 9s9d
Qartomy: 3d3h

There was a nine in the window and another one right behind it as the flop came 9c9h2s.

“Okay!” Little was pleased with the result. The meaningless 2c and Qh completed the board and Qartomy’s elimination gave Little a near-double.

Jonathan Little – 261,500 (65 bb)
Ray Qartomy – Eliminated

High Roller: Chance Kornuth Continues to Roll

Level 9: 3,000/6,000  with a 500 ante
Entries: 108

Gil Morgensztern got his stack of 55,000 all in preflop and found himself at risk against Chance Kornuth, who has been on quite a roll here in the past two levels.

Kornuth: QsQd
Morgensztern: Ah8c

Morgensztern’s best shot at a double was to catch an ace, but that didn’t happen as the QcKd4s flop instead  improved Kornuth to a set. The 6c turn left Morgensztern drawing dead, and he headed for the exit after the 5d was run out on the river.

Chance Kornuth – 900,000 (150 bb)
Gil Morgensztern – Eliminated

Chance Kornuth

In the last hand of the level, Isaac Haxton limped the small blind only to see Chance Kornuth exercise his option with a raise to 15,000. Haxton responded with a three-bet to 70,000 and Kornuth thought for a bit before moving all in for 278,000. Haxton wasted little time in making the call.

Kornuth: 2h2d
Haxton: 9c9h

Haxton was way out in front and stayed there on both the 3sKs10d flop and 10s turn. That is when the dealer drove a dagger through his heart by putting the 2c on the river.

“Yes,” Kornuth let slip as he began to break down his stack. When all was said and done, Haxton was left with 20,000, which disappeared a couple of hands later.

Chance Kornuth – 560,000 (140 bb)
Isaac Haxton – Eliminated

High Roller: Grayson Ramage Doubles Through Tom Marchese

Grayson Ramage

Tom Marchese and Grayson Ramage just flipped for a pot of close to 100 big blinds. Ramage was the one at risk for 182,500, and he had the overcards.

Ramage: AdKd
Marchese: QdQc

The board ran out AhKcJs7d2c, and Ramage won the race to double up in a big way.

Grayson Ramage – 375,000 (94 bb)
Tom Marchese – 60,000 (15 bb)

High Roller: Sam Panzica Rivers Harry Cullen Out the Door

$25,500 Big 4 High Roller
$2,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 8: 2,000/4,000  with a 500 ante
Entries: 99

Harry Cullen got his last 70,000 or so into the middle preflop against Sam Panzica, and both men showed down premium hands.

Cullen: AsAh
Panzica: QdQh

The first four cards were clean for Cullen on the Tc6h6s8d run-out, but the Qc river stole the pot away on the last card. Cullen slammed an open palm down on the table in frustration, and Panzica quietly stacked the pot as his opponent exited.

Sam Panzica – 230,000 (58 bb)
Harry Cullen – Eliminated

Jason Mercier

Jason Mercier raised to 8,000 from the cutoff and Nick Schulman, who earlier in the series won the 2017 SHRPO $50K Super High Roller, three-bet all in for 85,000 from the button. Both blinds folded and Mercier made the call.

Mercier: 10s10d
Schulman: 7s7c

Schulman was looking for a seven to stay alive, and he picked up some outs when the 9d6c5c flop gave him a gutshot to an eight. Unfortunately for him, neither the 5s turn nor 2c river helped him and he hit the rail.

Jason Mercier – 265,000 (66 bb)
Nick Schulman – Eliminated
