Action Clock Set to Run

Sam Carioti, WPT Director of Global Tour Management explains the Action Clock

With the start of their new season, the World Poker Tour is implementing their Action Clock on all major tour stops. It was previously used during the WPT Tournament of Champions and some WPT500 stops, now the rest of the tour can get used to the new switch.

The Action Clock comes into play when the field is one table away from the money bubble. Players will have 30 seconds to act on their hand with the Action Clock counting down in the dealer box. If they have a tough decision, players have four “time bank” chips and each count for a 30-second extension. If no action is taken before the clock hits zero, the hand is dead.

The Championship will continue to employ the action clock all the way down until we have a winner.

Check the Championship structure sheet for more information.
