Matt Yorra

Event 19 of the 2018 Lucky Hearts Poker Open was a $570 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) tournament. A field of 224 entries created a prize pool of $112,000, more than doubling the guarantee. When all was said and done, Matt Yorra and Sebastian Kos were the last two standing. A lengthy heads-up battle ensued, and after trading double ups they agreed to a chop. As chip leader, Yorra was officially declared the winner.

“It was a good field. A lot of the Hard Rock regulars and circuit grinders, and I’m just happy to get the win and end the series on a good note.”

Yorra began the final table second in chips to Kos. Once the two got heads up, the back-and-forth battle lasted nearly two hours before they agreed to a chop.

“He was really good, and the match could have gone either way. It’s so late, so I’m fine making the deal.”

The win bumps Yorra past the $570,000 mark in career live tournament winnings according to the Hendon Mob poker database, and also is Yorra’s first big series win at the Seminole Hard Rock.

“I’m really happy to get the title. It’s my first trophy, so it just feels good to finally get one.”
